You tossed your phone to the side, unable to find anything interesting to browse, nor anyone stupid enough to troll. There was nothing to do whatsoever. Natasha and Clint were both working together on a mission, attempting to break down the few remaining corrupted members of shield. Thor was currently shopping for pop-tarts and other of 'Midgard's most admirable and remarkable creations'.
And last but least, Bruce and Tony had revoked your lab privileges since the last few times you'd paid them a visit you'd only caused trouble. Let's just say that trying to juggle flasks and test tubes that actually still contained reactive chemicals was not your best idea yet, it took weeks and almost an eight of Tony's money to repair the damage. Which may not seem like a lot but with the amount of money Tony actually had, it was.
And before that accident you had oh so cleverly decided that trying to anger Bruce because it was 'more fun' when The Other Guy was out was also probably a bad thought on your part.
That only left Steve. You had no idea where he was at the minute but to be honest you two weren't that close anyway, you did talk but not much. You guess it would be a great time to get to know each other better but despite your outrageous, unpredictable behaviour you weren't the best at speaking to people anyway. Especially when a teeny, tiny part of you liked that person.
The only words said to each other were simple 'Hello's or 'How was your day?' It was rare for anything else to be spoken to each other.
Eventually you caved in and pronounced that watching television in the main living room would be the best option to rid you of your boredom.
You were wrong. The television at that moment in time was playing programs you'd either never heard of before or really really bad sitcoms.
You sighed, turning the television off when a familiar blond came into view. The one with sparkling blue eyes that would capture your gaze like a predator would it's prey. Releasing you, you managed to return your attention to the man. "Hey Steve." You greeted him with a smile, to which he returned almost immediately.
"Good day Ma'am." Oh how you loved that same polite, gentlemanly attitude he always seemed to use. "How are you?" He asked mannerly, sitting down in the armchair across from you.
"I'm great thank you, a little bored, but well nonetheless." You said quite joyfully in response. "And you?"
He nodded. "I'm fine thank you," With a soft smile rested on his face.
The silence you two had created between yourselves, despite it only lasting a short while, was loathed and it was starting to convert into a very uncomfortable situation.
Thankfully the former-soldier had decided to speak up, albeit with a nervous laugh. "It's lovely weather today isn't it?"
You giggled at his lousy conversation-starter, "Steve... That was the poorest attempt to break an awkward silence in history." You replied with a shake of your head and a grin beginning to form on your lips.
"Well it worked didn't it?" He said, beaming with reason.

The two of you sat in a much more comfortable manner than before, you had chatted for quite a while, occasionally asking questions; until the subject of Steve's days in the army came up.
What piqued your interest was the amount of time he spent in the barracks, in the mess hall, and everywhere else he had access to. What the hell did that man do with his spare time?
"Steve." You spoke, gaining his attention once more as he looked toward you and nodded his head for you to continue. "What did you do when you got bored? Like, when you were off duty. Obviously you didn't have a phone or an Xbox to accompany you." Maybe his answer will help me with my boredom? You thought.
