Y/N found herself in a familiar white room, its sterile walls and empty expanse unsettling in its familiarity. As she rose to her feet, her hands instinctively roamed her body, searching for any sign of injury or disfigurement.
"Did I die again?" Y/N's voice echoed softly in the silence.
"No, you didn't," Hestia's voice broke the quietude.
Turning, Y/N spotted Hestia curled into a small, trembling form in the corner of the room. Concern etched into her features, Y/N approached her, sinking to her knees to meet Hestia at eye level.
"What happened?" Y/N inquired, her brow furrowing with confusion.
"I transferred my soul into your mind to keep you conscious," Hestia's words were barely audible, muffled against her arm as her gaze remained fixed on the ground.
"What?" Y/N's voice wavered with disbelief. "What does that mean for you?"
"I no longer have a physical form," Hestia confessed, her gaze shifting away. "I won't be able to protect you like before."
"Hestia..." Y/N's words faltered, a wave of emotions crashing over her.
"I'm sorry for failing you," Hestia's tone was filled with remorse as she shielded her head with her hands, her posture frail and vulnerable. "I should have been able to defend you. The Telekinesis and Electric SEMs caught me off guard, and I was powerless to stop them."
Y/N felt a pang of guilt and sadness wash over her. Hestia had sacrificed her physical existence to keep Y/N alive, and now she blamed herself for not being able to protect her.
"No, Hestia," Y/N said softly, reaching out to touch her SEM's incorporeal form. "You have never disappointed me. You saved me, and that's what matters."
Hestia looked up, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "But I couldn't prevent your suffering."
"You did everything you could," Y/N reassured her, her voice filled with warmth. "Take this as a chance to rest your soul. You've served me well."
Hestia managed a weak smile, her spirit visibly lifting at Y/N's words. "Thank you, Y/N. I'll always be with you, even if it's just in spirit."
Y/N nodded, a small frown forming on her face. "I'll find a way to restore you, Hestia. I promise."
Y/N scanned the sterile walls of the white room, her mind whirling with questions and uncertainties. Sensing her distress, Hestia unfolded herself from her protective stance and extended a tentative hand towards Y/N's face, the touch as delicate as a feather's caress.
"Hestia—?" Y/N's voice was barely above a whisper, her fingers curling around Hestia's wrist instinctively.
"Being in your mind grants me access to your thoughts," Hestia disclosed, her touch tracing the contours of Y/N's cheek with gentle strokes.
