When I reached there Deangelo was nowhere in sight. And I couldn't risk telling anyone one else for fear they would never believe me. I ran around looking for Ruka and Deangelo before it was too late.

I needed him to know that the traitor was amongst us five all along!

"RUKA!!!"

Everyone's eyes went wide as the arrow flew straight through her chest. Joshua ran straight to his wife and picked her up carrying her to the car. The soldiers pursued us. I stopped and started to mumble a chant.

"...by savior. And let those who judge us by choice BE SENTENCED BY CHANCE!"

Lightning thundered and buildings shook. Deangelo grabbed me and we ran as the soldiers tried to recover from the sudden brutal attack.

"ARE YOU INSANE?!"

I laughed as he did a night ago and shook my head.

"No wonder why we're best friends no?"

"Michael this is no laughing matter! They'll be able to tell you were here now! No one else is a high-ranking soldier who can use that other than your bloodline! He will kill you!"

I sighed and then jumped into the car as he did as well.

"Then I died for a good cause, no?"

As he went to respond while driving off, we hear Joshua sobbing in the back.

"Please Ruka my love...please don't...n-no please! DRIVE FASTER DEANGELO DRIVE DAMN IT!"

Deangelo spoke no words and complied only speeding up. I looked back at her, and my heart fell as I realized that her eyes no longer had the look of life in them. I closed my eyes and laid my head back sighing. Wrong. So wrong! No lives should've been lost!

I was with her the entire time. There was no way she could've contact anyone. And we didn't even get the full details of the real plan till the meet up. Was she really the traitor?

"Deangelo. There's something I have to tell you."

He glanced at me confused while swerving trying to balance out the car.

"Huh? What is this a last-minute confession before we die? Haha."

I smiled sadly and nodded.

"Something like that. Deangelo... the traitor... I think it was-"

Suddenly bright lights shun on us causing the car to skid to a stop. Father stood there an army of angels ready to attack.

"It's now or never old friend."

I looked at Deangelo who smiled carelessly. Then at Joshua who carefully laid Ruka's unmoving body down. Ceaser nodded and I scoffed.

"Let's end this people."

We stepped out the car holding our weapons and fully settled in our armor. Then HE spoke. His voice loud enough to shake the ground. And his tone as condescending as ever.

"Now now my children. How could you think of harming me and getting away unscathed? You even.... lost one of your own due to your own incompetence. But Michael to say I'm shocked to see you here would be.... a lie! You did well soldier I'm proud of you!"

I stopped and stared at him confused. Everyone else looked at him confused as well. Caesar then spoke up.

"Why would you be proud of him... Michael what is going on?"

I shook my head at Caeser and everyone else.

"I have no idea what he's on about. There's no way he could've known I would be here."

He laughed and his voice shook the ground. My lips thinned together, and my fist clenched tightly. What trickery is he trying to use right now?

"Good job my son. Your work here is complete. You no longer need pretend to ally with these traitors."

I stared at him wide eyed. 'No... Don't tell him he's trying to-' Suddenly I'm knocked to the ground; Joshua is on top of me swinging hard and I'm trying to fight him off. A few soldiers come and grab him off of me and he glared at me with nothing but pure animosity.

"You were the traitor? You're a sick bastard! My wife cared about you like a brother! How could you? She's dead because of you DAMN IT I'll kill you!"

They dragged him away and Caesar and Deangelo as well.

"No...NO IT WASN'T ME I SWEAR IT WASN'T!"

They all ignored me. Deangelo left silently while Caesar cursed my name and Joshua fought the soldiers trying to get back to beat me. Then I turned to him. I summoned a sword and stabbed him.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing huh!? You know damn well I didn't betray them!"

He stumbled backwards and pulled the sword out of his chest and laughed. Then he leaned forward and whispered.

"I know you didn't. And I know you already know who the traitor is."

My eyes went wide. He spoke as if they were still alive... but Ruka was the only one on the team whose name started with R so then who could it have been?!

I looked at him angry ready to attack again until I felt myself fall backwards flat on the ground; I coughed up blood. My shirt sliced in half and my shoulder all the way down to my torso had a large gash in it. He sliced me down before I even could realize it. I sank the ground coughing and gasping for air. Before I lost consciousness, I remembered that one other person in the group whose real name started with an R. I spat up blood and tears streamed down my face.

I hear Deangelo scream out my name. He fought against the guards to get to me having seen me get struck down. He knew I was going to die as much as I knew. I gave a weak smile while still crying and spoke still gasping for air.

"Deangelo...I've failed you old friend."

My eyes closed and I was consumed by darkness.

The last thing I heard was Deangelo crying my name.

~Third Person~

The man stared down at Michaels body before signaling his guards.

"Get rid of him."

They bowed and each grabbed him pulling him towards the car. That night four people died. And one survived. The group that was to attack on Thursday was slaughtered the next day in front of all to see.

Lives were lost.

Blood was shed.

And Michael became known throughout the community as the one who betrayed his grace.

For many years children grew up to be told that story. The night of guardian Angel Michaels betrayal. Including kanji. She grew up hearing how horrible that man was. And how dreadful he had been towards his comrade's and his grace. But soon.... she'd come to understand the truth of that night and truths that laid untold from the people who surround her.
