ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 32

"Ona, I'll be fine. Go, please" I plead with her. "I can't just leave you here alone Minnie, you're six months pregnant" She argues.

"I'll be fine, just go. Koko needs you more than I do" I state, Koko has been sick and hospitalized for the past week and it's taking a toll on Ona, I somehow convinced her to go visit her, but she still doesn't want to leave.

"Call me when anything happens to you or the babies" She orders and I nod in response. "Don't forget to give my babies a goodnight kiss from me" She points out and I laugh. "Tsamaya Onalerona" She sighs, pulling her bag towards the door.

I walk back down to my room, trying to take a nap but I end up dialling his number and pressing the phone against my ear. It rings twice before he answers.  "Naledi?" He sighs into the phone, as usual, I remain silent, contemplating what to say to him.

I hang up once again. This has been going on for the past few months, I call him, he answers and I say nothing. I put my phone away and balance my body on the headboard. My phone starts ringing and I look down at it in annoyance.

It's Omphile.

Me:
O nyaka eng?

Omphile:
Your father's sick.

Me:
Mxm.

I hang up. He must be rejoicing and dancing around at the thought of Tata dying. I get up, walking down to the kitchen, trying to get my thoughts off of everything.

I end up sitting on the kitchen floor while stuffing my face with doughnuts since I couldn't sit up on the kitchen stools. My life's a mess and it's slowly falling apart.

I frustratedly rub my temple when the doorbell rings. I struggle up to my feet and head down to open the door. "Nx" I click my tongue, attempting to shut it in their faces but Omphile stops me. They both walk in, acting as if they own the place.

"What do you two want here?" I close the door and follow after them. "We need to talk" Mama says this time. "You want to talk?" I point at her. "Where were you when your husband cut me out of his life? Huh? Now you want to talk?" I scoff in response.

"Minentle, I tried-" I cut her off. "Well you didn't try hard enough, I want nothing to do with you and your husband, leave" I demand. "Entle, this is really important" Omphile days. "State your case and get out of my apartment" I fold my arms over my chest.

"Are you not-" I cut her off. "Speak so you can leave" I state. "Your father's sick" Mama says. "And what does that have to do with me?" I hiss out. "The doctor's don't know if he's going to make it, so we have no other choice than to start with the allocation of the businesses" Omphile grins.

"And he agreed to this because?" I frown. "He has no other choice, he's slowly dying" Mama mutters. "What does that have to do with me?" I impatiently ask. "He wants you to take over the company as CEO" Omphile shrugs.

"No... I don't want to, he's been trapping me my entire life. I want nothing to do with his company, I know nothing about business" I decline. "You'll have to tell that to him, he wants to see you"
"Over my dead body" I motion them towards the door. "Leave"

They both turn around, walking out with their tails inbetween their legs. I simply walk back into the living room, slumping down on the couch as my swollen feet rest on the coffe table. My eyes slowly start to close and I let go of my conscience.

*
I'm awoken by my phone loudly ringing, what is it with people and calling me?! I groan, slightly opening my eyes and putting it up against my ear without checking the caller ID.

Me:
Hello?

U/N:
Hey Entle, it's Sima.

Me:
Sima?... Oh, Samkelo's little sister, he gave you my number?

Sima:
Gave? I took it. I don't need permission from anyone to speak to my future sister in law.

Me:
Uhm, Sima... Samkelo and I aren't together anymore...

Sima:
You aren't? Oh, it doesn't matter. He doesn't have to know, I was just wondering if you'd like to hang out sometime.

Me:
I'm in Western Cape, I'll be back in a few months tho, I'll contact you then.

Sima:
Perfect... Look, Entle I have to go but I'll see you soon.

She quickly says then hangs up. I rub my aching head and get up, putting on my uggs and heading down to my room. I take a shower and get dressed into a blue dress. I grab my bag and apartment before heading out of the apartment and walking to campus.

*
I walk into the apartment holding a few grocery bags and a McFlurry. I place everything down on the counter as I finish up talking to Ona on the phone. "Sharp Mosadi, we'll talk" I hang up and look through my phone.

I have multiple missed calls from Mama, Omphile and Tata. How's he calling me when he's on his 'death bed'. I click my tongue and block them. There's something they want from me and I'll make sure not to give them a lick of it.

I unpack the groceries and peacefully clean around the apartment and make myself dinner. I'm not going to stress myself or my babies because of those three. I place my hand on my abnormally huge belly, softly caressing it, still trying to process the thought of me being pregnant.

Three months left, only three more months until I'm a mother. I sigh, packing up everything and washing the dishes and heading up to my room. I take a long well deserved bath before getting dressed into something more comfortable.

I get into bed, closing my eyes and falling asleep.
