"Well that was, uh, something..." Hagakure gulps as she looks over at Momo who is currently holding onto the counter for support after watching Bakugou confront Todoroki.
"Yeah, um, are you alright?" Koda asks, turning around and looking at Momo.
"Oh, yes, I'm fine," Momo smiles nervously. "I think I should go check on them."
A moment later, she walks towards the bathroom where she had seen Y/N take Todoroki. It's then that she overhears their whole conversation from the other side of the wall. She had thought Todoroki liked Y/N, but she wasn't sure due to the way he'd been hanging around her all night instead. It's not that Momo dislikes Todoroki, but she's not set on dating anyone right now.
When Yaoyorozu hears Bakugou's loud voice coming closer, she backs away and heads towards the party again. It's only a minute later that Y/N comes walking right past her.
"Hey," Yaoyorozu says, catching up with her. "Are you alright?"
"What?" Y/N jumps, clearly startled by the sudden voice. "Oh, hey, Momo."
"I saw what happened with Bakugou and Todoroki," she explains, concern written on her face.
"Oh yeah," Y/N mumbles, rubbing her left wrist, "Bakugou made... quite a scene. But I'll survive."
Momo gives her a sympathetic smile. "If you ever want to talk about it, I'm here for you."
You and Momo used to get along really well, but ever since the rumor about her and Todoroki secretly dating, Y/N hasn't wanted to talk to her much. She's always thought Momo was so smart and strong and independent. It was a bit intimidating. Besides, after that talk with her dad, her friend turned into competition. It sucked.
"Thanks," Y/N returns the gesture, feeling a weight get removed from her shoulders. She had missed talking to Momo. "I really appreciate that."
Momo hesitates before continuing, "And, uh, I overheard part of your conversation in the bathroom. I want you to know there's nothing between Todoroki and me. No secret romance or anything."
Y/N looks surprised, "Oh, really? I mean, I didn't think there was, but people were saying things, and I wasn't sure."
Momo shakes her head, "No, it's not like that. I'm not looking for a relationship right now. I want to focus on my career."
"That makes sense," Y/N nods happily. "Thanks for letting me know. And, if you're interested, there's someone here who's got a huge crush on you."
"Who?" Momo's face flushes with color as her mind goes to the few students in their class.
"Mineta's been looking for you all night," Y/N winks. "I think he's into you."
Momo's expression drops, "Oh, great."
"Don't worry," Y/N laughs, still trying to massage the bruise on her wrist. "Stick with me and it'll be like having a Mineta repellant. He knows I'm pissed at him so I'm sure he won't be coming anywhere near me tonight."
Momo smiles softly before changing the conversation. "Hey, do you want a bottle of water? Maybe some medicine for the nerves?"
"That would be wonderful, honestly," she smiles appreciatively.
Momo leads Y/N into the kitchen where she carefully pulls a bottle of water from the refrigerator and uses her quirk to drop two small pills into Y/N's hand. However, Y/N's hand suddenly shakes and the pills drop to the ground instead.
"Ow," she winces, grabbing her wrist again.
"Is something bothering you?" Momo asks.
"Ah, just an old injury," Y/N chuckles, rubbing her sore muscles. "It'll be okay."
"Here," Momo smiles. Did Y/N forget Momo just told her that she watched the scene with Bakugou? Clearly, his quirk burnt her wrist. "Let me make some ice."
Momo quickly pulls an ice pack from her chest and hands it to Y/N. "Here, this should help. And take your time. If you need anything else, just let me know."
Well now Y/N just feels like a shitty friend for nearly ignoring Momo the past few months. "Thank you," she answers softly. "You're a lifesaver."
"Don't mention it," Momo smiles.
Just then, Hagakure approaches the two of them, concern obvious in her tone. "Hey, are you both okay?"
"We're just fine," Momo reassures her, exchanging a look with Y/N.
"Could use a drink though," Y/N says, looking back towards the alcohol on the table.
"Alright, let's go," Hagakure smiles. The three girls walk over and make their own drinks, and then decide to sit at the counter and hang out.
As the night goes on, the girls find themselves feeling much better. The clinking of glasses and the muffled beats of the music fill the background as they talk and laugh, and share stories about the past three years.
"To surviving unexpected drama!" Momo raises her glass, the corners of her lips lifting in a tipsy grin.
"Cheers!" Y/N and Hagakure clink their glasses together as they shout.
Thirty minutes later, the girls' speeches begin to slur, their words blending together.
"Y'know," Y/N leans into the countertop, a grin on her face, "I love you guys. You make everything better."
Hagakure giggles, "You're a gem, Y/N. And Momo, you're like... the best."
Momo, with a slightly flushed face, adds, "No, seriously. This is... this is the best."
Amidst their laughter, they hear the sound of a throat clearing. Turning around, they see Jirou standing behind them, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Are you still drinking?" she shakes her head.
"Hey, I thought you said you were going to sleep," Y/N speaks up first as Jirou rubs her eyes.
"I was trying to but it's hard with all the noise," Jirou groans.
"Then join us," Y/N smiles, hopping off her seat. "C'mon. It's the last night!"
"You guys are a mess," she shakes her head. "Fine, I'll grab some water. Just for a little bit, though."
"I love you, Kyouka!" Y/N cheers, causing Jirou to laugh.
"I love you, too, Y/N," she says. "I love all of you."
"And I'm going to miss you all!" Hagakure begins to cry as Momo wraps her arms around her.
"Oh, come here. It's alright," Momo chuckles, hugging the invisible girl.
"You'll see us again, you know," Jirou says as she hands her a water. "We'll always keep in touch."
"But, it's not the same!" Hagakure whines.
"I know," Y/N nods, her vision blurred by the tears forming in her eyes. "I'm going to miss you guys so much."
"I will, too," Momo agrees. "But we'll stay close, I promise."
"I'm so glad we had these three years together," Y/N sighs. "They were the best years of my life."
"Mine, too," Momo smiles.
"Same," Hagakure whines.
"Yeah," Jirou sighs. "I'll definitely miss this."
