Shubman's POV – The Next Morning

I woke up to the soft hum of Shobhana's breathing beside me. The sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting a warm glow on the room.

She was wrapped in the sheets, her hair spread out like a wild halo, her body curled into a ball beside me. It looked like she was still in dreamland.

I, however, was wide awake, my thoughts racing faster than a bullet train.

I couldn't help but smile, replaying last night in my head. The way she looked at me, that smile, her laughter—it was all a bit too perfect.

We'd fought, we'd broken up, and we'd stayed away from each other for a while. But now? We were back to where we belonged.

I slid out of bed as quietly as possible, hoping not to disturb her, and grabbed my phone. I had one person I really needed to talk to about all this.

I hit the contact for Ishan and waited for him to pick up.

"Yo, Shubster!" Ishan's voice blasted through the phone, and I could practically hear the grin on his face. "What's up, bro?"

"Hey, Ishan," I muttered, trying to keep my voice down, though I was definitely feeling more energized than I should be this early.

"I need to tell you something."

"Uh oh, what did you do this time?" he teased. "Got yourself into another love triangle or something?"

I let out a soft chuckle, glancing back at Shobhana, who was still nestled under the sheets, completely unaware of the chaos that was about to unfold in my conversation.

"No, no, man. It's nothing like that," I said, my voice turning serious, though there was a giddy undertone that I couldn't control. "I—uh—we're back together."

I heard a sharp intake of breath from Ishan on the other end. "Wait, what? You mean... you and Shobhana?" he asked, almost sounding too shocked for someone who already knew I'd been hopelessly in love with her since forever.

"Yeah, man," I said, leaning back against the wall, trying not to wake her up with the excitement in my voice. "We've been back together for a month now."

There was a brief pause on the other end, and then Ishan finally spoke, the disbelief in his voice clear. "A MONTH? And you didn't tell me? What, you were waiting for the right moment to drop the bombshell, huh? Did you guys even, like, talk about it, or was this just, like, an accidental hookup?"
