{This story is made for my entertainment, my spelling and punctuation will not be in point but I will try my hardest. Also just something is that to me the cats perspective we have in the prologue I imagine her to have a strong British accent. She is the medicine cat in this story. Anyway I hope you enjoy!}

Dark luminous shadows stretched across the clearing, making anyone who was new there probably think that something awful was about to happen.

But that was the opposite.

Small shuffles and muffled mews sounded from the edge of the clearing, signalling a cat was present.

The harsh leaf-bare wind was rippling through camp making every cat shiver, and worry about the small tabby she-cat in the nursery, struggling to give birth to a litter of kits.

' ' Fallenbranch it has been too long since the last kit has come out. Something is wrong. ' ' I signaled to the she-cat lying in the nest beside me, struggling.

I run my patchy black paw softly down Fallanbranches side, looking for any signs of more kits.

There!

I pressed a wee but harder, Fallenbranch flinched. ' ' Sorry, but another kit is on its way. I just need to manoeuvre it. This may hurt Fallenbranch. Bite on this stick and push. ' ' I pushed a small, but firm stick towards the she-cat before pushing down on the lump in her belly, making my way towards her hind quarters.

Fallenbranch had a distort expression on her face, as she pushed a tiny bundle of brown fur out.

I shoved the kit towards her signalling for her to lick it. It was a she-cat.

Her glossy, prominent mottled pelt already showing.

Fallenbranch looked relieved, and also surprised that such a tiny thing could cause so much pain.

I placed the kit next to her brother, who had already been born only a moment ago.

He was a strong, black pelted Tom who wouldn't stop mewling from the moment he was born.

He would be a handful. But would make an excellent warrior.

I once again felt Fallenbranches side, gently pressing on her belly. Fallenbranch didn't flinch this time.

I could still feel at least two kits.

Suddenly, Fallenbranches whole body shuddered before another bundle of fur came out. This time it was a grey and white Tom.

The tiny kit let out a screech, I picked it up panicking a little before realising the kit was fine. I licked the kit before placing him down with his siblings.

Soon after a bundle of black and white fur slid into the nest beside his siblings. He was kicking and mewling already manoeuvring himself over to Fallenbranches belly. Fallenbranch cleaned him up as I heard paw steps sounding through the entrance to the nursery.

I turned towards the entrance

' ' I've brought new moss. ' '

' ' Thank you, Yarrowtail. ' ' I dipped my head to the white Tom before me, then picking up the wet moss and giving it to Fallenbranch.

Fallenbranch happily licked the moss relieved she was done.

I gave a quick check to all the kits before exiting the nursery and heading into the clearing where the Sun had began to peak over the camp walls.

A group of cats was waiting in the clearing.

' ' Fallenbranch has given birth to four wonderful kits! They are all healthy and will make excellent warriors. ' '

The clan seemed content knowing their clan member was no longer in pain. Some cat even cheered for the new additions.

Four new kits to the clan.

Somehow I knew that these kits were different, something in them was different to other kits.

I just didn't know what.
