I woke up, not inside my padded white room with Lilith, but in another test room with multiple doctors. They had strapped me to a bed again and I could overhear their conversation.
-"So we've been testing this new thing. When me and Ms Yolande went out the forest for the last project, we found these amazing spiders and extracted their fluids. What if we injected it into a human? The fluid seemed to have amazing strength in them" the scientist named Mr. Davis said, pointing to Ms. Denmark. I looked over to a table that had a bunch of flask with purple-greenish liquid.
There was so many of them, and next to it there was loads of syringes.
A scientist walked over to the table and started filling up the syringe with the purple liquid while the doctor checked my heartbeat, blood pressure and breathing. You know, like a normal checkup at the doctors. The man then inserted a syringe into me.
I wasn't too scared since I felt the pain yesterday, although the liquid was throwing me off. It was also from a SPIDER.
I took a deep breath as the syringe went deeper and deeper into my arm. I thought I was fine until I let out a blood boiling scream when felt a killing pain in my arm. I could move it but the pain felt like my arm was paralyzed.
-"AAAGH! IT- IT HURTS" I screamed out
-"Is this normal?! Did you disinfect the syringe, Dr. Singh?!" Ms Yolande said dropping her clipboard on a table and checking my heartbeat.
-"I did! This is a strange effect...I didn't think this would happen"
-"it's alright. By tomorrow we should figure out if this liquid makes her strong."
They then let me out of the test room and I saw Lilith eating a plate of food. My eyes lit up with joy and I ran towards her.
-"You got food?!"
She nodded and pointed to a tray "your food is here"
The food didn't look too appetizing but we still ate it. It was the only thing we had right now. It was literally cereal, orange juice and stale bread. After eating, we had absolutely nothing to do, so we spoke about random things about ourselves.
-"When I was at least 10, my parents bought me a horse and but a purple traffic cone on its head and pretended it was a unicorn. I'll never forget that day... what about you? Any childhood memories?" Lilith asked me
-"...I uh, didn't really have any funny or exciting ones. Maybe not memories but, bad flashbacks...."
She looked at me with a confused and sad face "Savanah, what do you mean..?"
I took a deep breath and looked at her
"I had an abusive father, an absent mother. Neglected too often. Ran away at 10" I left out a bunch of stuff because I didn't like that topic. She frowned at me and gave me a hug
-"I'm so sorry for you Savanah.. I hope you recover from that incident"
She moved her hand up and down on my arm, feeling the scars from abuse and burns. I smiled but inside I was still very sad. I escaped from her arms and took a nap
-"Sorry Lilith , I don't feel like talking right now" I said, dozing off.
-"No problem. Get some sleep Savanah"
As she was about to rest her head on the padded floor, she looked at me and said:
-"I love you, Savanah... PLATONICALLY OF COURSE" She giggled nervously and slept. Although it looked like I was sleeping, I heard her every word. I smiled and went to bed
