Warm Days (Enemies to Friends..?)

Chapter 1

As the sun started to rise, Ender's eyelids started to open automatically. She glanced around, seeing Aiko still asleep. Ender smiled and she rubbed her eyes before stretching and then jumped out of bed. She decided not to wake up Aiko and let her sleep for now.

Ender then walked out of the room, quickly walking down the hall until she went upstairs. She opened the door and then the wind hits her skin and made her shiver for a second.

"Ah Ender! You're awake!" Yuii spoke from above. She was on the quarter deck, still steering the wheel. "Mia! Take the wheel for me will ya?" She yelled at the one woman who was tying the ropes in the main deck. She nodded and quickly ran up to Yuii, taking the wheel for her.  Yuii smiled, patting Mia's shoulder then she walked down to Ender.

"Oh how I'm so excited to explore around the world in this ship." Ender said, looking at the sun that was still behind the clouds. It was rising slowly and Yuii nodded in agreement.

Yuii promptly gave a chuckle to her. "I'm glad that Old man Darryl gave me this ship for free!"

Ender smiled instantly in suprise "So you really did convince him to do that." She playfully said and glanced at Yuii.

Yuii chuckled again and shook her head. "He said some reasons on why I should take the boat which I'm suprised he really trusted me. He even gave me a few extra gifts."

"Favoritism?"

"Oh shut up!" She nudged Ender with her hand on her arm.

Ender laughed lightly and stared into Yuii's eyes. "You know.. You're best ever friend. You did this all.. For me.. For us." She smiled, absolutely grateful for Yuii to be so kind like this.

Yuii awe'd at her words and she wrapped an arm around her shoulder. She started to lead the way, walking down to the railings. "I know you've been trapped in that village for so long because of your aunt. I'm just doing this because I want you to feel what it's like to have dignity in your life for once."

She pointed at the horizon. "Soon you'll explore on many islands but first we have to find the O'Vhakis." She smiled widely "Find that island and make people believe that it's all true."

Ender paused and she really didn't know about that she shrugged "Yeah...definitely." She said with a hint of nervousness. She used to believe that, that island is real but now she stopped.

"Well go ahead and get breakfast in the kitchen. I'm sure Beren will make something special for you." Yuii changed the topic and gestured her to go back inside the ship

Ender then sighed and nodded, following on what she said and she walked downstairs, feeling hungry on what food she should pick.

Beren is the best chef in all world (Thats what Ender said). He cooked for Ender, if ever she gets hungry. His specialty is sea foods. He mostly let everyone eat for free since he's one of the nicest man in here. He's only 25 years old, and often acts childish when he has the day off.

The lavender haired was now in the kitchen, seeing a few of the crew eating breakfast. They greeted Ender with a few good mornings and waves. In return, she did the same to them. She ran up to the counter then Beren immediately turned around hearing the footsteps.

"Oh well hello Ender! I'm suprised you didn't got caught from your aunt last night." Beren teased. He had a knife on his right hand, his free hand grabbing a vegetable from the side.

"Oh shut up." She laughed a little and Ender watched him mince the carrot as she grabbed her food from the counter that was already ready. There was a man approaching next to the line.

"So, you're not gonna miss him?" asked Beren. He placed the knife down and grabbed a bowl full of soup, automatically handing it to the man. He happily thanked Beren then left.

"Miss who?" Ender raised an eyebrow, not sure on what Beren meant. She stood on the side of the counter, waiting on what Beren has to say.

"You know..Yuri?" Beren said in a questionable way as he looked at Ender.

Her eyes widened and frowned instantly. "Ew? Why would I be?" She was disgusted.

"Well no fighting for a few weeks with him sounds terrible. You guys got like that whole session where you just keep on talking harshly at each other." Beren chuckled as he stopped working so he could take a break, giving the other workers the role for him.

"Okay very funny." She mockingly said and walked to the empty table with her food on her hands where there had two seats thats vacant.

"Im serious!" Beren teased a bit more and wiped his hands onto a piece of cloth. He quickly opened the door to follow Ender from behind.

"Yuri is such a sick guy. I don't mean it in a good way. He is just extremely annoying and a very yappy guy. Like a puppy wanting attention..but.." Her voice trailed off and she sat down, placing her food on the neat table.

He sat down as well just across the table. He looked at Ender curiously and raised an eyebrow waiting for her to finish her sentence. "But..?" He repeated her last word, leaning a bit.

Her eyes was inspecting the food on her plate, her fork on the side and she was holding onto her spoon. She was lost in her thoughts for a moment and she shook her head going back to the conversation with Beren.

"His arguments started to lessen a bit just about a week ago for some reason." Ender's tone softens, her hand with the spoon, lowering a whit.

Beren blinked a few times, not sure if he was seeing this correctly but he was. He scanned Ender's expression and replayed her voice in his head. She was concerned of Yuri. He thought and assumed that she finally cared for him.

"That's cute.." He mumbled with such awe. He stared at her and Ender snapped out of her thoughts and she looked at Beren. She blushed in embarrassment and glanced to the side.

"Quit staring!" She exclaimed "And what the hell do you mean 'cute'?"  She emphasizes the word cute. Which she looked embarrassed about it. She looked back at him

"You just say it like it's a problem to you." Chuckles erupted out of Beren's throat and then he motioned to her eat.

Ender furrowed her eyebrows, glaring at him with a downward smile and her eyes squinting. "I'm just saying that he's starting to get a bit less aggressive which is a good thing." She then swiftly scooped up the rice as she used her fork to stab the meat. She began on eating, her eyes now focused at her own food.

Beren could tell that she's lying but she doesn't know it. He then rolled his eyes and sighed "Good thing? Really huh?" She stopped and looked up at him in confusion. "You are just forcing it out without your mind even knowing how you feel." He added and suddenly heard someone called out his name.

She was confused.

"Well, gotta get back." He said and gave her a small nod and smile which was a sign of goodbye. Before, he was about to leave, she did the same in return.

Ender's smile slowly dissipates and continued to eat. She didn't know what Beren meant but was determined to know.  Her thoughts started to disperse and without even knowing it, she was finished eating. She then stood up, walking to the counter to place her dishes there.

Suddenly the door opened, Ender's eyes immediately travelled to the loud thud of the door seeing..
