Warm Days (Enemies to Friends..?)

Chapter 6

VIP dining room

All of them were sitting down, awkwardly. Aiko was beside William and she had her hands resting in between her lap, William was sitting still with his eyes focused only at Yuri, Yuii sitting at the center to the side and she was slightly sweating, Ender had  look of discomfort and the same as Yuri.

The two foes just awkwardly sitting beside with each other, not moving an inch. It suprised Aiko and William that they aren't trash talking at each others faces.

-In the middle of the plaza-

"Coward!" Ender yelled

"Weak bitch!" Yuri got closer to her face

"Alcoholic!"

"Maniac!"

Aiko looked at them with annoyance as they kept yelling at each other like two normal children.

She nudged William with her own foot as he flinched and looked down at Aiko. They were giving each other looks like they were communicating at each other. She shrugged and he did the same afterwards.

Meanwhile, Ender was just mentally panicking. She couldn't even think straight and didn't know why she agreed to this. She kept having the same questions in her head that will never be answered.

As for Yuri, he was just sitting still. Didn't really know how to react. He was trying to ignore Ender but it's hard since he noticed her uneasy look. He then looked at Yuii and it made her turn her head away from his direction. When he also looked at Aiko, her head turned away as well, fake coughing. Then to William, he just kept staring at him with eyes that is unexplainable. There was a weird eerie feeling that surrounds William. Yuri then slowly rotated his head down.

He already knew that everyone in this room hates him. He lets out an exaggerated sigh and stood up, getting everyone's attention. "I can leave if you all are annoyed or uncomfortable of me being he—."

"NO!" Yuii and Ender yelled which made his eyes widened and startled a bit. Just in time, the waiters came in the room and gently placed the food on the table.

"Please sit down." Yuii said full of sincerity like she didn't want him to leave. Yuri reluctantly sat down

"Me and Ender invited you here. We'd hate to see leave you early." Yuii looked at Ender like she needed help from this.

Ender hesitated and glanced at Yuii then shrugged, she really didn't know what to say. She saw the food in front so now she clasped her hands and spoke, her voice trembling at first "Let's all eat shall we?"

After everything was done, all of them left to prepare to go to bed. It was an awkward evening for sure but they all managed to go through it. Yuri was just left out when he was eating with them. Ender and Yuii was talking and Aiko and William as well. They had their own conversation while Yuri sat awkwardly, eating.

Currently, he is just in the main floor with a coat on since it was cold outside. He just stared at the starry sky, thinking about what happened earlier and on why this happened. He wanted to go back at the ordinary village. He gripped onto the railings, his eyebrows furrowed.

Yuri mentally criticized his friends for forcing him into that. He shouldn't have drank 3 bottles of whiskeys. His mind suddenly travelled to Ender, remembering her facial expression while they were eating. He took a brief moment before sighing. He felt bad for her.

He couldn't blame her for being uncomfortable. He did a lot hurtful things to her in the past. So much that he knew she will never forgive him even if he's trying to change like now.

"Yuri..?" Ender spoke from behind him and he froze at the voice. He turned his head to his shoulder, side-eying her. She was in her night gown with a long coat she was wearing.

She flinched, seeing how blank Yuri's face was. She tried to think of a word on what to say next. "What are you doing out here..? It's almost 12." She just stood still and he straighten his back, turning around to fully face her. He had no other choice but to finally answer.

"I was trying to ease off my mind." Yuri replied with a monotonous voice and he stared down at Ender. She looked at him, seeing him with a cold expression struck goosebumps down in her spine. He looked much more colder than before.

She hesitated, not knowing what to say after that. Perhaps it was about earlier, she thought.

"What about you?" He asked in return and it made her feel suprised a bit.

"I.. I couldn't sleep." She says and walked over to the railings just next to him but not that close. She placed both of her arms on top of the wooden railings and sighed.

He just watched her actions and this was pretty inconvenient for them. He turned back around to look at the horizon. It was just the ocean. Nothing else.

There was a short silence between them and Ender spoke out of curiosity "Are you feeling better?" She wanted to know if his fever has reduced.

Yuri's head perked up a bit, astounded by the question. He hesitated "Yeah I suppose. I'm still feeling a bit hot along with a migrane but overall I'm fine."

A curve crept onto the corner of her lips. She thinked for another question to make this less awkward between them. It was so weird for her to be like this towards him but for the sake of their journey, she didn't want to cause any trouble. She wanted this trip to be more peaceful like she expected it to be.

Now that she thought about it, maybe she had an idea in mind. She turned her head to the tall man "Hey uh.. Yuri."

He heard this and felt two pair of eyes on him. He rotated his head to her side and the two met eyes. He waited for her to continue.

This is really unusual. She began "Let's make a deal.." Her voice darkened slightly and that really caught his attention, determined to know what this deal was. "I don't really— I mean I dont want my trip to be in chaos now that your here. I have to urge to just shout at your face right now but I'm holding it in and I uh-..." Her voice trailed off and blinked a few times.

Yuri was a bit confused, at the same time judging her. "What I'm trying to say is—... Temporarily, let's try and.. Stop the hassle between us and be... Friends—wait no. Acquaintances. Yes." She's having trouble speaking up since this is the first time she has done straight at his face.

He was suprised and watched her arm extended out for him. "Deal?" She waited for a handshake. Funny for him, he actually was trying to avoid her since he was starting to regret on what he did to those awful things to her. He lifted his hand up. Before he could hold her hand, he examined her expression.

She was being genuine for the first time. It didn't seem like she was gonna break the deal... Or will she? He figured not to think through it and hovered his palm into hers, the two shaking hands. "Deal." He repeated with a small smile.

This really might be the chance she could be friends with him. But she shouldn't trust him that easily.
