Ch.9 - The Auction

Two weeks later.

After that night's incident, Haein or anyone from his gang wasn't seen around again. When they had their conversation about the so-called threat with their executive, Junmyeon, he stated that Haein wasn't dumb enough to take this matter any further, he tried his chance, he flopped. However, Jisoo's mind liked to take the things other way around.

For example, she deemed likely that this was the calm before the storm.

But to speak in all honesty, what kind of storm Haein could have cause to thr head of Seoul assassination?
So, she let the topic go.

During these two weeks Jennie and Jisoo went on more missions together, occasionally teaming up with the other agents by their boss' request. It was mostly unchallenging tasks to let Jennie accustom to the tempo, but Junmyeon knew the girl was already capable enough to let her join to a slightly tougher mission.

He had eyes, he could see how the two women grew closer with each day passing by. He liked to see them like that, he liked to see Jisoo like that. The woman looked like she was actually enjoying this job for the first time since god knows how many years. She looked like she was finally able to breathe again.

So as of now, Junmyeon gathered Jisoo, Jennie, Felix and Lisa in his office to announce them their current mission.

"The assignment I'm gonna put you in charge with is a close-up one, so no need to bring your snipers."

Lisa was frustrated at the news, she was in love with her snipers. She even possessed a collection of them at home.
"No snipers? But they are my professionality, sajang-nim."

Felix gave the blonde a wry look,
"What are you? A senile? Up distant missions were starting to get boring anyways, you can stay on top of a skyscraper as much as you want, though."
He objected, unable to continue his bullying with Jisoo's harsh interruption.

"Stop arguing in front of our boss like middle schoolers."
She glared at the younger's, causing them to hush down reluctantly.

"A close up mission..? As in we go and kill the target, like, directly?" Jennie asked, having absolutely no clue about what they were going to do.

Junmyeon explained calmly while gathering the information files together.
"Yes, that would be correct. Your faces will be shown but it doesn't hold a critical risk as long as you manage to keep a low profile."

"You will definitely love it Jennie, It's much more fun than doing it from afar." Felix tried to convince the girl.

"I would say that too if I didn't get involved in the fighting part." Lisa wore an annoying smirk as she challenged the blonde man, earning a squeak of eyes as in 'you little rat'.
She valued Felix, they would mess with each other frequently just because.

Jisoo sighed between the duo, she was having enough with their redundant arguments. She ignored them and took the file Junmyeon handed to her.

"It's not really easy nor an impossible task. You will attend to this auction and spot this man," He showed them a pic of a bald middle-aged man. "And get rid of him while keeping, like I said, a low profile. So no guns or anything that contains fuse, do it with something more primitive, preferably. Keep him shut. He's a respected business man so there are always multiple bodyguards around him. This operation demands exclusive cautiousness."

Jisoo nodded understandingly.
"What has he done?"

"He buys and possesses orphan children. A pedophile, to say the least. Our team spotted him weeks ago and they let us know that he will be joining this auction which is based on sexual intercourse related stuff. We're assuming he is planning to use it on..well. Is any further explanation needed?" He finished with a disapproving expression.

Jisoo knitted her eyebrows in dismay, that man deserved to be punished by the Lucifer itself. How could one can be this cruel?
"Everything's clear, sajang-nim.'" She reported.

"Good to hear, good luck ladies." He realized the offended look Felix formed.
"And gentleman." He corrected, bringing the boy's face a satisfied smile.

The four of them exited the building, hopping into Jisoo's brand new Ferrari -because it seemed like Haein didn't have any plans about returning the other one- since her car was the most convenient one for a fancy event.

"Time for distrubition of the tasks and planning. I say we cut the power for at least 3 minutes before the generator gets activated, and take him down quietly in that period of time." Felix suggested, trying to form a plan from the back seat, Jennie sitting beside him while Lisa's on the passenger seat.

"I don't think that will work Lixie. The auction will hold place in the private garden of a mansion. It won't be dark enough outside in the evening." Jisoo objected, causing Felix's shoulders to slump down.

"Man, now that sucks"

"We can try knocking his bodyguards out and catch him alone in some corner." Jennie came with an another suggestion, earning a nod from the blonde woman.

"That could work. Felix can draw the attention to him since he's not really into close-up fights and give Jennie and I the the oppurtunity to tackle the bodyguards down, while Jisoonie is handling the guy secretly without any obstacles." She pretty much planned it in her hand, leaning back on her seat while thinking how fun and easy this mission will be.

"Laying the critic part on me as always Lili?" Jisoo raised an eyebrow towards the blonde, causing her to giggle guiltly.

"What are you accusing me with? Of course not! You should be thankful that I'm handing you the most entertaining part."

Jennie backed the blonde up, trying to hide her amusement.
"That is about right Jisoonie. We will take the well-built bodyguards down, you only have to deal with a 50 years old fat-ass scumbag."

"Well, I don't want to intervene your attack on this poor woman but," Felix started, checking the files on his hands.
"It says here that he has a black belt on taekwando, also 7 gold medals in sumo wrestling.."

This caused other two woman to bite their lips in regret and fill with worry while Jisoo swelled with laughter.
"Aha! See how your face expressions changed!"

Lisa shoved her shoulder lightly, not wanting it to effect the wheel.
"Dumbass, YOU will be the one to deal with a black belted in taekwando!"

This dragged Jisoo into realization.
"Shoot. Guess that will be a compelling one.."

They arrived at the mansion about 30 mins ago and Felix managed to draw the bodyguards into the back of the garden, saying that he heard potential intruders talking about plotting a robbery. Luckily there weren't many of them, so it was easier for Lisa and Jennie to knock the 5 bulky men once the bodyguards were on their sight. When they were done with their part, the trio gave each other proud high-fives.

"Now that all of them are sleeping beauties, we'll have to wait for Jisoonies signal to buzz off before someone notices the man's absence." Lisa gave a long exhale as she hauled the last unconscious man into the staff room.

"Yeah.. I hope it won't take long.." Jennie trailed off, failing to hide the worry in her voice for the older.

Meanwhile, Jisoo spotted their target heading to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, she decided it was the perfect moment.

She slowly crawled from the already wide open glass door, kneeling behind one of the counters. Eyeing the man's massive back, she heard his lifeless cough and attacked in that low-key vulnerable moment, wrapping one of her arms around his neck from behind him and supporting it with her other arm.

"Wh-..o a-are..!" The man tried to form a sentence, causing Jisoo to tighten her grip on his neck to keep him shut.

"You nasty old man. Thought you could've get away after what you have done to all of that innocent children, didn't you?" She was squeezing his throat so hard that the man was on the edge of losing consciousness, until something unexpected happened.

The man, somehow, reached to the glass on the counter and shattered it on Jisoo's head.
