Ch.16 - Holiday

Jisoo's eyes softened. She left Jennie under her dazing gaze. Her right hand slowly rose, holding the girl's chin.

"Is that so?"

On the other hand, Jennie's heart was pounding in her throat. She couldn't even breath when she felt the latters touch on her face. She managed to let out a simple nod.

The next thing she saw was how Jisoo leaned towards her face, getting incrediously close to her lips. Jennie closed her eyes, ready to feel the soft lips against hers. She was on cloud 9 by now. Her brain was shut off.

"Jen? JENNIE! Do you not hear me?"

Jennie felt her body being shook with two hands on her shoulders. She looked at the woman before her with wide open eyes.
"A-ah..what?"

"You've been standing on the door sill for 5 minutes. Not responding or hearing me. Were you zoning out?" Jisoo's smile stabbed right through Jennie's chest. Oh. She was daydreaming. Great.

"I..I was looking for you." She muttered.

Jennie realized the older woman looking at her for a few seconds before responding.
"I went out for a puff. Let's go back inside, the breeze is sending me chills."

Her words earned a consenting nod from Jennie.

Haein changed the bandages around his shoulder carefully. He was struggling using only one had, so he decided to seek help from someone. But than he realized that he had no one to ask help from. This realization dawned on him like a truck, making him let out a deep sigh. He had friends he valued back on his old firm, one of them being Jisoo. Until one day, all was ruined.

He wrapped the bandage after applying antiseptic, thanking to whoever that sniper was for aiming only his upper shoulder.

Lisa actually didn't mean to spare Haein's life, she had no purposes as such. When the man's sight was on her scope, Chaeyoung was standing right in front of him. The blonde sniper couldn't have risked such possibility as the bullet going through Haein and reaching her precious girlfriend. So in order to avoid that, she simply tilted her sniper to a little left for the bullet to dodge Chaeyoung.

Deciding he did enough treatment for today, Haein put the materials aside.

The door crack gained his attention.

"Hi, veteran" Lain came in with an innocent smile.

The agent didn't acknowledge the older woman right before him, thus he went on with whatever he was doing.

"Come on, at least look at my face."

Haein squinted his eyes with disgust, gritting his teeth,
"Are you fucking serious? It was because of you we lost her! Get out of my face."

Lain feigned hurt, when nothing or no one can affect her stone cold heart.
"What are you saying? Do I seem happy with the incidents?"

"It seems like you don't give a fuck to me and that's the problem, you narcissist bitch."

"Agent." Lain wore her coldest attire.
"If you keep talking to me like that, you'll fuck around and find out."

Haein slightly bowed his head down with shame, no matter the situation, Lain could've give an end to his life the moment she feels like.

Lain sat next to him, seeming amused now.
"Do you really think that they got her with their own efforts? Oh my god, honey, I thought you knew better than that. If I didn't let them, the girl would be dead by now."

Haein didn't say a word, he just looked at her with confusion in his eyes.

"Mommy has it all planned, sweet little boy," She pinched his cheek.
"The summer's here. I prepared an excellent holiday for them."

"C'mon Jendeuk! Why are you still pouting?"

Jennie's sulky expression didn't falter, nor she said a word (unless 'hmmph' counts as a word).

The other couple was already asleep during the half of the movie. Or.. were they faking it? Jisoo didn't know. All her attention was on a upset kitten right now. Obviously, Jennie was upset because of the vision she had. She wasn't upset at Jisoo, she was just unpleased that it wasn't the reality.

Suddenly, the elder moved closer, holding Jennie's chin and making the younger face her.

"One thing about me is I hate when people give me the cold shoulder without stating the reason. Although, I'm not sure I function as usual when it comes to you." She said the last part really quiet. Like she was talking to herself more than the girl.

Jennie's eyes popped wide open, did she just heard that right? The fuck?
She started to breath out loud and in a rapid pace without realizing.

"..Unnie?"

"Hmm?" Came the reply.

But Jennie didn't say anything. She just kept looking into the depths of Jisoo's captivating brown eyes.

Jisoo tucked a strand of hair behind the younger's ear, "I adore you. You are.. the most precious."

Jennie was stunned. No, like actually. Was this an another vision? She swears to god, if it is, she's gonna start a riot and attempt arson.

Her pupils turned into hearts, her smile was radiating love.

Jisoo bent down closer to the girl, and kissed right next to her lips, before laying down completely.

Jennie's huge smile almost didn't fit her face as she snuggled impossibly closer to Jisoo's chest and wrapped her arms around her torso, while she was being secured in the warm embrace of the woman she came to love the most. The warmth of their tangled limbs was all Jennie could think about before falling asleep.
