Charlie walked to the room giving me a smug face. "Hey what do you mean books!?"
I followed Charlie inside, as I got there Charlie took a lighter from their bag pack and went to a lantern lamp and light up the candle. "Im always prepared." Charlie announced as they look up to me.
I rolled my eyes and went to the window. I brushed the curtain to the side and opened the window to let the light get inside.
When I turn around, the room had finally revealed the inside.
The curtain is mint green color like the wallpaper outside. The room is a bit wide than ordinary room, each side of the room has a pile of books, rando manuscript and some no label books. The floor is dark brown and it has a royal blue carpet at the center in diamond patern, Charlie put the down the lantern to the table that has piles of papers and random stuff like photos of similar faces from the painting. A photo of a girl.
I think it's the same person on the painting but a bit younger.
"This room is the only room I always visit." Charlie suddenly spoke as they sat on the couch bed. "Theres a old albums and some photos that would help us on our research. Its more cool if we investigate in ourselfs without asking for the locals help right?"
Well Charlie is not wrong, but I feel like were breaking in and tresspasing someone's private property.
"Are you sure we are good staying in this place?" I asked.
"Yes...and no"
"That question only need one answer not two." I spoke.
"Well, we are fine staying this place...I was just saying no because I was unsure---"
"God damn it Charlie." I moaned in frustration.
"Hey just, let get something so you would believe me..."
Charlie walked to the cabinets and opened the drawers one by one. "Uh...I swear it was left here somewhere..."
I sighed and walked to the near chair, putting down my bagpack and took out my journal notebook and pen. I started to walk around the room and starts reading the words that imprinted on the spinal of the book, most of them are in greek words, italian, filipino...english. Its all different books I couldnt understand and when I said filipino, I meant the old language. I think its called baybayin. My foreign exchange classmate told me about their culture and history. I wish I could take these books so I could show it to them, theres really a lot similar book and mostly in filipino language.
I continued on searching until I found this photo between other books.
