I didn't hear the announcement. I didn't hear the cruel, mocking laughter. I didn't even hear my own screams as I collapsed to the floor. If Kris's body had been a punch to the gut, this mutilated hell was nothing less than a bullet to the head. Revulsion overtook every cell in my body as I resisted the urge to vomit. I couldn't bear to open my eyes, but the awful sight was burned into my vision nonetheless.
Another body... and this one wasn't coming back, for sure.
Gake: How?! How did this- how the hell did this happen?!
Akiyoko: Is he really...?
Kenji: Hey, G-Gake... are you ok?
Gake: It's... how? Why would anyone do this?
Kenji: I... don't know. But we need to stay calm. The counsellors want us to lose it, right? That's what you told me, earlier.
Gake: Yeah... yeah, you're right.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps. Several people rushed out of the undergrowth.
Ledge: What the fuck are you idiots- HOLY SHIT!!
Keita: Oh my... who did this?
Kimaeru: We don't know yet. I suspect Kris's attacker had a part in this.
Tsuki: Why did they go so goddamn far?! How do you go from a stab wound to DECPATITATING SOMEONE??
The movie star seemed on the verge of tears, covering her eyes with one hand. Hanako led her over to a fallen log, and the two sat by eachother in order to calm down.
Alexandra: What kind of psychotic human being would put this much effort into killing someone? Hahaku was fucking annoying, sure, but that doesn't warrant whatever the hell this is. It's just a waste of effort.
Keita: Do not talk about him that way. Someone is dead, and we have to figure out who did it. If you aren't going to be respectful, then don't talk at all.
Alexandra: Shit, fine.
Before long, two dreadfully familiar faces appeared in front of us.
MonoMutt: Hey!! We're here!
MonoRam: We will be distributing your files now. You will be allotted an hour to investigate.
Sure enough, my MonoPad beeped, and upon inspection its screen was now taken up by a similar file to Kris's from earlier.
