Sooo...Hi?

Sorry for not posting in like a couple weeks, homeworks been stacked up and my wrist still has yet to heal. I somehow got the time and motivation to write another chapter so here you go :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lihaku's POV

"Alright, fighters ready? Fight."

I heard the proctor's voice as he signaled the sparring session to begin, getting into a fighting position.

I recognize the opponent in front of me as the recruit that helped me find my way here.

'But that won't let me falter. It's best I don't embarrass myself on my first day by losing.' I thought with a determined look on my face.

I got ready to do the first hit but realized my opponent was gone. Looking around, I tried to see where he'd disappeared to.

"Sorry but you're a bit slow."

I whip my head above me and see him ready to attack me.

'So fast, he started moving right after the proctor said start-' I struggled to block the kick that my opponent tried to land on me, as I get pushed back a bit from being shocked by his speed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second POV

You flip backwards a couple of times after getting blocked, landing on my balls of my feet. Immediately, you sprint towards your combatant and start landing quick punches and attacks on him.

'He's a fairly large target so it should be easy to hit him, though I should be careful with my stamina...'

You continue to hit his weak points with swift and agile movements. You eventually notice his stance weakening as all he's been doing is block and fail to land a hit on you.

'Good, he's wearing out. Let's see if we can get him to surrender.'

You step back as you give the impression that you are also out of stamina, Lihaku falls for it and takes the opportunity to try and land a hit on you. He runs to attack you but you quickly ducking under his swinging arm.

"Here's a tip, don't keep your movements too big-" With a swift movement, you punch the solar plexus of his stomach.

"It leaves a bigger opening for your opponents."

He crouches down in pain and you take a step back, knowing he would surrender. To your surprise, he stands up and puts his fists up in a ready position.

'Huh, so he has a strong fighting spirit.' You acknowledge his will and nod.

"You have a strong will, I respect that." You say looking him straight in the eye, "But that won't stop me from beating you."

'Well that was a bit blunt. I was assuming one of them would surrender by now...' the proctor thought to himself.

Following your statement, Lihaku proceeded to try and land another hit on you. But you narrowly dodge his fist, ending up behind him. You quickly land two hits on his back and neck with your forearm and fist, resulting in him going unconscious.

With only you standing, you stand over the unconscious man. You pick him up with his arm over your shoulder and look at the proctor.

"This round is over right? I'm going to take him to the infirmary."

"Wait, what about the other rounds?"

"I don't really care whether I come out on top, you may continue the rosters however you like. This man's safety is my main priority though." you say simply.

"Do you know the way?" A voice comes from behind you.

You look over to see the purple-haired man. Though you had noticed his appearance beforehand, it was odd seeing him up close and personal with you.

'I can practically see sparkles around him, he doesn't seem like a soldier or an eunuch for that matter.'

"Uhh I do actually, I was able to get a brief tour of the outer palace yesterday after my arrival..." You reply, not wanting to interact with anyone at this point.

"Hmm, I shall escort you anyways. It does seem that you may struggle to bring this recruit all the way there."

'Is he underestimating me? Or does he just have something to do with me, I couldn't have piqued his interest that much...right?' You narrow your eyes towards him, but can't say anything so agree to let him come with you anyway.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two of you were sitting in the lobby of the infirmary, you had just given Lihaku to the nurses and he was taken in to get treated.

"So, your name is Kocho Y/N. Interesting, I believe I've heard of that surname before..."

'Why is he suddenly starting up a conversation-' You thought to yourself, confused about the abrupt statement.

"Odd, I've heard that they are renowned for their knowledge in the medical field. But...I've never heard of them having anyone skilled in combat, or having any male children up until now..."

You conceal your nervousness, trying not to appear tense.

'Well this was bound to happen at some point, but I didn't think it was going to be this soon..'

"So Kocho, I want to ask-"

"You're not actually a man, are you?"

A/N

Hi guyss

So firstly I want to apologize for being gone for the past few weeks. Like I said, my wrist is still sprained and I have a lot of tests and homework that I have to get done.

Idk if this was a good chapter tbh, I'm still trying to learn how to right fight scenes so.

This is also a really short chapter so I will try to keep the publishing consistent but no promises 🥲

Thanks for Reading!
