🌷Who are you?🌷

2nd POV

"You're not actually a man, are you?"

"What are you talking about? I've barely just met you and your assuming my gender? I mean, I only just came to the palace a couple days ago." You lie casually with a smile

"Really? Are you certain about that?"

"Well what evidence do you have? You can't prove that I'm the opposite gender and if you were to report me. Wouldn't you be losing a valuable soldier? Plus, how do you know that I may be of a different background?" 

The atmosphere becomes even more tense, as the man beside you becomes silent.

'That's what I thought, now leave me alone.' you irk through a smile becoming more and more impatient.

The two of you sit there for another minute before Lihaku exits the infirmary patched up from his injuries. Noticing him, you leave him an apology and bid farewell to the two men.

You let out a sigh, relieved from being able to retreat from the confrontation. Arriving at your residence, you finally allow yourself to get some rest. Internally sighing as you lay onto your bed, you start to think about what is going on back at home.

'Well, at least I get to hone my skills through training here. The only thing I need to worry about is keeping my identity a secret...' you think to yourself as you look at the blank ceiling, slowly zoning out.

Suddenly you hear a crash followed by a scream that erupts from outside, you immediately shoot up from your position and rush to the window to see what the commotion is.

Looking out, you notice a woman running in the direction of the forest and hurriedly run after her. Eventually making it to the forest, you notice that there are two figures. Slowly inching closer to the scene, your eyes widen as you realize that one of the two individuals seem to be acting abnormal...as it's a demon.

Noticing what the monster is going to do to the innocent woman, you waste no time in killing it. Unsheathing your blade which you brought with you, and jumping up into the air. Your sword swiftly pierce the demon multiple times before landing softly on the ground, guarding the victim.

"Hey, don't interfere with me and my prey. Who are you anyway? You think a few gashes are gonna affect me?" the creature arrogantly speaks as he slowly starts to regenerate.

You simply smile back at the monstrosity and place yourself in between the woman and the demon. Blocking the beast from her view, "Ara, you're a feisty one. You really should be careful with how you treat people you know."

The demon becomes visibly infuriated and goes to attack, but before doing so, it suddenly falls to its knees. You look down at it as the poison starts to take into affect, continuing to stare at it in silence until it's body fully disintegrates.

Looking back at the woman, checking her for any wounds (which luckily, she didn't), "It's alright now. But you really shouldn't roam the palace at night and I'd advise that you don't tell anyone of this matter. As it will place more people in danger."

Before the lady could get a word out, you jump into the nearby trees and quickly retreat back to your room. As you make it back to your building, you notice the night guards past out.

'So that's why nobody could hear the woman's scream.' you think to yourself, happy that the issue was dealt with.

You pass by them and head into your stay and place your katana onto its stand. Laying in your bed afterwards, 'It's late, I should probably get some rest...'

Agreeing to your self conscience, you slowly close your eyes succumbing to your well needed slumber. (this totally isn't a sign that you should all go to sleep as well 👀)
