Luffy's group were still running from the supposed Kuma, Bonney's father that she revealed to the Straw Hats a few moments ago.
"Hey!" Luffy turned back to look at Bonney, "Is it true that Kuma is your father?!"
The pink-haired woman wiped her tears and ran faster to catch up to them, "Yes! Why would I lie to you!?"
"That surprised me!" Jimbei exclaimed, "I knew it! You just have to put the pieces together! She did say a major clue before! Which was her father is a cyborg, and the only one we know apart from Big Bro is Kuma!" You stated while running.
Chopper looked at your direction, "YOU SHOULD'VE TOLD US, MOM!!" He retorted while you only apologized, stating it wasn't your business to say.
The doctor looked at the daughter of Kuma, "That's why you came to see Vegapunk!" He put two and two together on why Bonney came to such lengths to come to the futuristic island.
Kuma, still chasing the group of pirates shot a beam projectile towards a building, making it fall straight towards them. Chopper yelled in fright before Jimbei used his strength to support the fallen debris and threw it back to Kuma.
Bonney stopped to see if the former warlord hurt her father, "You bastard!"
But the helmsman made sure not to hurt him, "He's alright! I only did it to buy time!"
"Let's go!" Luffy shouted to the group, getting them to pick up the pace.
But Bonney stayed frozen in her place, looking back to see the cyborg who could be her father, 'Dad!'
You heard a yell, and turning back, you saw Bonney who didn't start running like the rest of you did, "Bonney!" You shouted to get her out of it.
Your captain stopped as well to get her moving, "Bonney! What are you doing?!" With his devil fruit, he was able to wrap his limb around the woman's body to drag her with them.
The said woman was not pleased with the turn of events, "Hey, let go of me!" Luffy only moved forward, "Idiot! Let's go!"
Kuma broke free of the small trap Jimbei created to buy time, "It didn't buy us much time!"
Still on the run, Bonney looked back but could only envisonize her father making her look away as it was too painful for her to remember.
The cyborg started to launch a series of beam projectiles at the pirates. Luffy found an alleyway they could use as a shortcut, "This way!" But it was a dead end, "It's a dead end!" Chopper yelled in worry.
Jimbei turned back to face the way they came from, "We have no choice! Bonney, I'm sorry but..." the Fish-Man prepared for battle against Kuma, "I gotta stop him by force...!"
Luffy was gracious enough to let go of her as he too, was going to help take down Kuma, "What?! No...!" Bonney persisted that they couldn't.
"Sorry, Bonney. Close your eyes for a while," Luffy punched his fist, "Alright!" Chopper beside him prepared to fight as well.
You went to the woman's side to help her to her feet, "Hey, what are you up to?!" Bonney yelled.
Jimbei advised you and the Straw Hats to be diligent, "You three, don't drop your guard! This is Egghead, Vega punk's island!" Kuma started to enter the alleyway, "Maybe he's different from the Pacifistas we know!"
"Guys...! Maybe we could figure it out! I can use my powers to transport us somewhere else—" Luffy gently cut you off, "Sorry, (N/N). But he'll only chase us until he takes us down. We have to do it first!"
