The mysterious cat

Chapter 2

She then stood up and climbed out of the window. It was cold today and she wasn't wearing a jacket or anything to keep her warm. She went to the spot where her and Luna always met and waited, she saw Luna walking to the spot as it's cat form and waved its paw. She waved her hand to Luna and noticed Luna had turned into a human after. "Coraline" Luna said happily as Luna turned into a human and hugged Coraline. Coraline hugged Luna back with a smile and then they started chatting as Coraline talked about her day to Luna and Luna did the same.

Suddenly there was an unfamiliar voice from behind Coraline. "Luna? What are you doing here.. Who are you?!" The voice sounded like a male, Coraline looked behind her to see a boy who looked similar to Luna but looked older and was taller. Coraline froze and kept staring, as the boy frowned and clinched his fists. Luna stood up and put her hands up in a defense way. "Rowan, I can explain-! This is Coraline, I hung out with her at night for the past week" Luna explained, the boy who seemed to be Rowan, stared at Coraline, in a way she couldn't make up what he was thinking, it's like there was no emotion in his face, just blank. He stared at Coraline blankly, seeming a bit mad from his glare that made Coraline shiver and then glanced at Luna. "I told you not to talk to strangers, Luna." He said, sounding disappointed. Luna walked to Rowan, trying to explain to him.

As Luna explained anxiously to him, her brother, Rowan, didn't stop glaring at Coraline, which made her tense as she glared back at him. Coraline rolled her eyes as she looked away and waited for Luna to come back.

After a few, Luna walked back with her brother, Rowan behind. "Sorry for keeping you waiting" Luna said as she sat back on the ground, across Coraline. Rowan sat beside Luna and Coraline raised an eye brow why he's still here. "Is he staying with us?" Coraline asked as she glanced at Rowan. Rowan looked similar to Luna, same hair color, dark blue and a bit fluffy, making you feel an urge to ruffle it and play with it. Their features a bit same but a bit different too. He had a sharp jawline, she noticed when he looked to the side, showing off his side profile. Coraline snapped out of it and looked back at Luna who nodded, she hoped she wasn't staring too long like a creep. "Yeah, he won't leave and says it's too dangerous to be alone" Luna said as she rolled her eyes, annoyed by it. Coraline gave a quick nod, then awkwardly sat there silently as she glanced at both, Luna didn't seem bothered as she went back to talking and Rowan seemed to feel awkward but not as much since he still kept that blank expression. As Luna went back to talking, making Coraline forget that her brother was even there as Coraline laughed and chatted with Luna.

Rowan stayed silent as he looked at Coraline and then back to Luna, as they both laughed and chatted. Little did Coraline know, he was studying her features as she was too busy talking and laughing with Luna, his sister. He felt a bit annoyed by Coraline, as he stared at them both. 'Can't believe I'm wasting my time like this' He thought to himself. His gaze on Coraline  softened without noticing as he then caught himself and looked away. "Luna, how much longer are you staying? It's already past midnight." Rowan said clearly annoyed. "Just a bit more." Luna said as she didn't look away from Coraline, continuing their conversation. Rowan got more annoyed as he stood up from the ground, a frown on his face. "Come on, we're leaving" He said as he took her arm, not aggressively, not wanting to hurt his beloved sister. "Fine, just let me say bye to her at least" Luna said as she rolled her eyes wanting to spend more time with Coraline. She hugged Coraline, giving her a warm hug as Coraline hugged back with a sweet soft smile. "It's alright, I'll see you tomorrow?" Coraline asked as she still was hugging her. Rowan rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms and glared at them. "Yes!" Luna replied with her usual bright smile and happy tone. Rowan said in an annoyed tone, interrupting their chat. They both glanced at him and Luna rolled her eyes. "Just a bit longer, I want to stay with Coraline a bit longer, please?" Luna said trying to get him to let her to stay longer but he refused as he shook his head and stood up.

After Luna said bye to Coraline, Luna and her brother Rowan walked away deep in the forest and Coraline went back home, feeling tired as she changed and went to bed.

Rowan and Luna went back to their home, which was located in the middle of the forest, underground. As they walked towards their home, Luna wanted to know how he thought of Coraline. "So, what do you think about her?" Luna asked as she glanced up at her brother. Luna and Rowan were both tall, Luna was 5'11 while Rowan was 6'1, Coraline was short compared to them, 5'5. "She's okay, I guess. Don't get too close to her, okay?" Rowan replied as he walked next to his sister. "Okay? She's cool and really pretty!" Luna replied with her usual hyper voice as she frowned and crossed her arms. "If I got the choice to either live the rest of my life with her, or die, I would rather die" He replied as he shrugged and rolled his eyes.
