Ahinoam and David's marriage was very beautiful. They loved each other and cared about each other.
10 months later.
David and his people that came to support him in running away from King Saul, had ran out of food.
There was no food left for the people.

There was a wealthy couple that lived in Camel. The name of the couple were Abigail and Nabal.

I will tell you a little story about her and Nabal before I tell you about the hungry people of Israel.

Abigail and Nabal got married after 2 weeks of knowing each other. It was kind of strange the fact they were so much in a rush to get married.
Nabal was a very rich and wealthy man and admired his wife's beauty.
Abigail was a very beautiful woman, very wise full of intelligence and a woman of God.

After the wedding Nabal bought a big beautiful house in Camel for them to stay in.
He told Abigail that his grandmother, Agnah. That both of them will stay with her.

Agnah never liked Abigail, she just saw her as a trashy human being. She also thought that she was so needy and picky.

The marriage between Nabal and Abigail at first was very sweet, until Nabal started showing his true colors.

Nabal continued treating Abigail like trash. She kept praying to God to change him..Until one day.

David sent two of his servants to go to Nabal to ask for food to feed the people that stayed with  in hiding.
David told them to go to the house of Nabal in Carmel and say:

1 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒆𝒍 25:6-8
"𝑷𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆!

FACT: David was not the son of Nabal. It was just an expression of those days. David was the son of Jesse whos grandmother was Ruth the Moabite.
The soldiers have protected the sheeps and fields from invaders in Nabal's property before they followed David.

Then Nabal answered David's servants:

1 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒆𝒍 25: 10-11
"𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆? 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓. 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎"

Nabal basically refused to give food to the people whom were following David.
Out of anger David was ready to go and kill Nabal and his entire house. So him and his soldiers took their swords and weapons to Carmel.

When Abigail heard the news she was shocked and surprised how Nabal is so greedy.
She was also very nervous because she doesn't want to be killed.
So in secret Abigail told her maids to serve A LOT of food for David and his people.

When David arrived with his soldiers in Carmel, he saw Abigail and her maids in the field. As he was about to commit an iniquity, Abigail was wearing a veil that covered her nose to chin. Immediately ran an put her face on the ground of the Earth an said:
