"YOU WHAT?" Jenny exclaimed, slamming her hands on the desk in utter shock as she stared down at Suoh, who blushed furiously under her gaze.
"I... I like Min-Joon," Suoh confessed, his eyes shut tight in embarrassment as he bit his lip.
"No... no way," Jenny muttered, falling back into her chair in disbelief. "Why are you so surprised?" Isaac, Jenny's boyfriend, chimed in.
Both Suoh and Jenny turned to look at Isaac, who remained focused on his math textbook. "I mean, it was quite obvious you liked Min-Joon, Suoh. You always hung around him, talked to his friends, went to his basketball games, and even when he auditioned for the modeling job, you were there with him. So it doesn't come as a surprise that you like him," Isaac pointed out casually, not even lifting his gaze.
"Are you saying... I've liked Min-Joon this whole time?" Suoh asked, his face flushing red as his heart pounded in his ears.
"Not saying you've liked him the entire time. I'm saying that these feelings aren't new; you've just never noticed because Min-Joon was always around you," Isaac clarified, finally looking up to meet Suoh's beat red face.
"So, what are you going to do?" Jenny asked, crossing her arms as she observed Suoh's pouty expression.
"Don't know," Suoh replied, leaning his chin on the palm of his hand. "Let things play out, I guess. Min-Joon seems happy with Mei-Li, and I don't want to ruin that for him."
Isaac stared at Suoh thoughtfully before shifting his gaze back to his textbook. "Are you sure he's happy?" he asked, capturing their attention. "I'm not saying Min-Joon doesn't like Mei-Li, I'm just saying... there's a slim chance he'll go for you if you confess. It's not hard at all, and besides, knowing Min-Joon, he'd do anything for you," Isaac paused, placing his pen on the table as he locked eyes with Suoh.
"Even if it meant breaking the things he loves most."
As Suoh walked down the hallway, Isaac's words echoed in his mind. He stopped in his tracks, his feet carrying him to the basketball court.
There, amidst the other students, stood Min-Joon, his laughter filling the air as he played basketball. Suoh watched, mesmerized, until his gaze fell on Mei-Li sitting with her friends across the court. A scowl crept onto his face, quickly replaced by a forced smile as Min-Joon waved at him.
"Suoh," Min-Joon called out, jogging over to him with a grin on his face.
"Morning, Joon," Suoh greeted, a small smile playing on his lips as he watched Min-Joon's sweat-drenched form. "You're here early today. Is there a game or something?"
"Basketball season is over," Min-Joon pointed out, leaning against the railing. "I'm here early because I went to pick up Mei-Li for a project she's working on. I texted you this morning about it. You didn't read my message?" he asked, his gaze searching Suoh's face.
