Chapter 5

Hi.. I bet you didn't see this coming!
I have finally returned to continue my Danico fanfic from ages ago.

Honestly I've changed a lot so my writing might be very different from before but I'll do my best to continue the storyline.

Dani's POV:

I sat down on my bed before getting lost in my own thoughts.

Lately, I've been starting to see Nico a little differently.

I don't know why.. or what happened that made me start feeling this way about him.. but lately I've realised how important he really is to me.

I guess he has always been someone important to me.

"Hey Dani, are you okay? You seem a little out of it." Nico asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"No, I'm fine.. I was just thinking." I noticed Nico being a little more dressed up than usual.

"I didn't expect you to dress all fancy just to go see a meteor shower." I teased.

"Hey, I didn't dress that fancy.. I'm just wearing a more expensive jacket." He said in a defensive tone.

"Yes.. I suppose it's better than that suit you wore before." I was trying to mess with him a little.

"Oh really? What was it that you said to me back then.." Nico's eyes locked with mine.

 "Oh right-" I could see a smirk appear on his face.

"Guys like me look much better in casual clothes, don't they?" He said sounding even more confident than usual.

I really shouldn't have brought this up..

"You heard that?!" I could feel my cheeks turn a bright shade of red.

"Yeah, I just didn't have any time to respond to it because you ran away."

I wasn't completely sure but I felt like he was standing a little closer to me than earlier.

It was like the atmosphere had changed completely in only a matter of seconds.

"What did you mean by that?" Nico suddenly asked.

"It meant exactly what I said, guys like you look better in casual clothes." I answered, looking away from him trying to hide my embarrassment.

Why do I get flustered so easily around him?

"And.. do you like guys like that?" He asked as he sat down next to me.

I didn't expect him to be so direct..

But I should have expected it, Nico has already told me about his feelings.

And.. I haven't given him answer yet.

Even though he told me he was okay with waiting, I couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

The more time I spent with him.. the more I realised that..

I was developing feelings for him.

I rested my head on his shoulder before saying..

"I guess they're okay."
I said as I tried hiding my cheeks that were now a slight shade of red.

"Just okay?" He asked jokingly, but I could tell a part of him wanted an actual answer.

"I-.."

Yikes.. why am I stuttering like this?

"You?" He asked while making eye contact with me.

"We.. we should leave! We don't wanna miss the meteor shower."

"Right.. sure, let's go." Nico looked disappointed by the way I suddenly changed the topic.

Well, if it wasn't awkward before.. it definitely is now.

Sorry that this chapter isn't very long but I noticed that the chapters before this weren't very long either and I just wanted to try updating this fanfic to see if any people still read it.
I also saw some people asking me to update and it actually gave me motivation to make another chapter.. Anyways!
I just wanna see how it goes and if people want me to keep updating it I'll my best to find time for it.

I'm sorry if the storyline and the way of writing suddenly feels very different, but I really tried my best to make it kinda the same.
