Dani x Nico | The Start Of a Romance |

Chapter 2

Dani and Nico were on their way to their next destination on their brooms. There was a blue clear sky and they didn't really know where they were going, they were just waiting to find another village or country. Their mission is to convince others to make peace so that witches and people who can't use magic can live and share things together without any problems.

"Dani, let's have a broom race!" Nico says with a grin on his face.

"A broom race? You know I'm always up for that." Dani sped up leaving Nico further behind.

"H-hey hold up! I didn't say I was ready yet." He tried to increase his speed too but like always Dani was way better at flying a broom.

"You should've been ready the second you asked me, Nico." She smiled.

Nico his cheeks turned light pink after seeing Dani smile, he missed her smile. Every single day those 3 years, waiting for her to recover. Trying to get a reaction.. but nothing.

"Just you wait, I won't let you beat me!" Nico says with a smirk.

"Oh? Those are some pretty big words for someone who never beat me at a broom race before." She started slowing down so she wouldn't lose sight of Nico.

"Fine, I'll admit that I haven't but one day I'll beat you." He started looking around for any place to stay the night since it was getting darker.

"Dani, I see a forest over there. It's already starting to get dark, wanna stay the night there?" He pointed at the forest.

"Sure, let's go." She started flying in the direction of the forest.

"Usually the forest wouldn't be my first choice but I don't see any other places to stay and it's late."

"Hey, Nico.. I missed you, I'm glad you're here with me." Dani suddenly got flustered realizing what she said came out of no where.

Nico his cheeks were as red as a tomato and he turned around to face Dani. He hugged her.

"I missed you too, Dani, you have no idea how much." He hugged her tight as if he was scared of losing her again.

"Nico, I can't breathe." She said with a chuckle.

"O-oh right!" Nico got flustered.

"Do you wanna make a campfire and roast marshmallows? I'm pretty sure I brought some with me." She started searching in her bag.

"Here they are!" She took the marshmallows out of her bag smashing them in Nico his face on accident.

"You really like abusing me today, don't you?" He said with a teasing tone.

"Oh, come on don't be dramatic. They're just marshmallows!" She handed him a marshmallow.

An hour passed and they've both finished eating. They told each other horror stories, just like a few years ago with Dorian and Monica.

"Nico, wanna sleep on my lap?"

"What?!" Nico got flustered by what Dani just said, he never expected her to ask such a thing.

"Well, you don't have anything better to sleep on, take this as an apology for attacking you with the marshmallows earlier." She chuckled.

"But what about you? You don't have anything to sleep on either."

"I'll be fine, just lay your head on my lap."

Even though Nico was flustered this was an opportunity that he couldn't miss. He rest his head on her lap, and quickly fell asleep. He was tired from flying around everywhere the last few days. Dani looked at Nico.

He looks kinda cute when he's sleeping.

Wait, what am I thinking? It's Nico he's not cute.

Right..?
