Bacon above all.

My mind spun with a mix of disbelief, regret, and a hint of dark amusement as she sat across from Nero, my newly minted husband. She couldn't deny the mind fuck of waking up married to the very man who had shattered her heart.

Trying hard to resist the urge to roll her eyes at his nonchalant demeanor, his casual attitude towards our massive fuck up only pissed me off more. Where the hell was Rain? "Earth to Nero. Can you stop salivating over the bacon and get serious for a minute? We need to figure out how to get a divorce."

Nero's smirk faltered slightly, replaced by a more serious expression as he looked at me. "First off, bacon is life. You know this. Also divorce is a no go."
"Please tell me I heard that wrong."
"You didn't. You know how serious marriage is to the Night family. I am not walking into my dads house and announcing I got married and divorced in one weekend."

I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief. "And how exactly do you propose we stay married and I not end up in jail for killing you?"

Nero leaned forward, his gaze intense. "We can make it work. We were together for a while and it was solid."

"Until you pull a dick move and broke up with me after I planned your birthday party! Like who even the fuck does that!"

"That would be my idiot cousin Nero Night." Says the voice of. My favorite Queen of Disaster. Looking up I see my bestie trying to take a seat next to Nero, trying because Brandon quickly shifts her into the seat next to me instead. She glares at him.

"Sorry Thundercloud, but I don't want to be kicked out of here before we eat because you made Nero cry." Rain looks at me and I shrug, because it's a very possible outcome. Nero shows that he has a working brain by not denying it.

I couldn't help but let out a frustrated groan, how had this hot ass mess become my life? Rain simply shrugged, her expression unapologetic as she settled into the seat beside me. "Hey, don't blame me for adding some razzle dazzle to you lives. Besides, I'm just here for the bacon."

Nero chuckled, finally tearing his gaze away from the plate of bacon in front of him to acknowledge Rain. "Always a pleasure, Hurricane Nox."

Rain narrowed her eyes at Nero, her lips curling into a mischievous smile before swiping a piece of bacon. "Don't think I've forgotten about what you did. You better start treating her right, or I swear I'll make your life a living hell. Starting by informing my favorite uncle about what his spawn has been up too."

Leah couldn't help but smirk at Rain's threat, appreciating her friend's loyalty even in the most absurd of circumstances. "Silver-lining to this shit. Family dinners with Daddy Night."
"Your infatuation with my dad won't help our marriage."
"I am not seeing that as a cause of concern honestly."
Nero held up his hands in surrender, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. Why do I get the feeling divorce is going to be extremely difficult?
