𝚄𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙼𝚘𝚘𝚗, 𝙱𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚂𝚎𝚊- 𝘈 𝘗𝘑𝘖 𝘛𝘝 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘧

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟒

Throughout the whole cab ride, Luna was busy watching the scenery where as Percy was busy watching the girl with silver highlights.

Percy tapped on her shoulder, "Can I ask you a question?"

Luna hums while watching the view out of the window, "Ask away"

"Is your hair naturally white and black or is it dyed to you know, match the whole moonchild aesthetic?" Percy asked with a curious look in his eyes.

"Yes Percy, this is my natural hair color; till a few years ago I had to dye them black because it would otherwise attract more attention" Explained Luna

"I see, does it have any special or specific abilities?"

Luna chuckles at his question, " I am not Rapunzel, Jackson. I don't know why it is white, mom says that I need to figure it out myself."

"You and your mom are pretty close, huh?"

"Yes, it is odd and forbidden even but she is a Titaness, and she loves to break rules. She can be very manipulative and persuasive at times." Luna changes the subject quickly before Percy can feel more sad, "want to know a fun fact about my hair?"

"Can it heal injuries?" Asked Percy yet again his eyes shining at the possibility.

"No, dumbass but my hair grows very fast."

"How did you figure that out??" Percy's face was equivalent to a question mark

"Years ago, I cut my hair short cause my father was terrible at haircare at first, but it grew back to the same length I have now, till my lower back in like a month"

"You are Rapunzel in the making, you are just in denial about it." Percy teases her

"Oh my god, I am not Rapunzel!" Her ears a little red in embarrassment.

"Whatever you say, Rapunzel"

Luna huffs in annoyance, and looks back at the window.

Soon they reached the bus station. They get on the bus, what Luna didn't like at all was that their seats were at the back of the bus.

"Luna will be sitting with me-" stared Annabeth when Percy interrupted her.

"Woah, woah- what if I want to sit beside Luna?"

"How about you ask me who I want to sit beside?" Percy and Annabeth both look at her awaiting her answer.
"So, I know Grovey likes to sit by the window, so how about I sit between you too, then all of us will be happy."

"Sounds great to me!" says Grover with a smile

Grover and Luna bonded over their love for animals and how they can talk with them, although for Luna she can only talk with nocturnal animals. But she loved animals nevertheless.

Percy was being ignored, Luna was feeling sleepy while reading the book with Annabeth and was dozing in and out of sleep. She turned to Percy's side and placed her head on his shoulder, turned her body to face his. Luna grabed his green plaid shirt jacket with one hand and other on Percy's chest holding his t-shirt tightly.

The poor boy was blushing while Grover held back a snicker, he thought they looked cute together, and Annabeth was a little annoyed at the cuteness of the two.

"She likes you" declares Annabeth, "she doesn't cuddle with anyone and everyone, just with people she feels safe with." Annabeth narrows her eyes at Percy, "Break her heart and I will rip yours out."

Percy gulped in fear when he heard Grover say, "And I will definitely help Annabeth in doing so..." with a serious look on his face.

"I have a question?" Annabeth nods asking him to continue, "What is going on between her and Luke?"

Annabeth and Grover exchange a look, Annabeth sighs, "That is not my story to share, Luna will definitely tell you why she hates Luke so much. But-" she looks dead into Percy's eyes, " Luke likes her, and I don't think he will let you be with her so easily."

Grover nods at the statement, "But Luna doesn't see him like that and she has made it quite clear with him."

"So, the one guy who helped me figure out everything back at the camp will become my enemy if I date Luna?"

"Pretty much, yes" says Annabeth with another sigh.

"Okay, let's just not think about that now, I will see to it when I get there."

Silence fell upon the trio, while Luna was blissfully unaware and was having a talk with her mom.

In Luna's dream

Luna finds herself standing beside a small natural spring, small daisies and other wildflowers growing around it.

"So, how is your first quest going?" Asked a voice from behind her. She was wearing a beautiful one shoulder white satin dress which had a slit on one side till her lower thigh.

"Hello to you too Mom" Luna says with a smile

"Or should I ask how things are going on with that child of Poseidon's?" Selene asks her daughter with a teasing smile.

"Ohh my God! Not you too Mom" her face red in embarrassment.

"You and I both know you are in denial about your own feelings-" she bops Luna's nose, "and it's ok to feel scared."

"How did you know-" she goes to asks her mother.

"You are too much like your father in this department-" she says with a mischievous smile on her face, "oblivious in love, until all of a sudden it hits you like a train."

"Maybe..."

Selena pats her daughter head and ruffles her hair.

"Ask him why he chose you for the quest, it will clear a lot of questions." Selene revealed, "Until next time sweetheart."

She can see everything go hazy, and she hears someone calling her name,
"Luna! Luna!" says a voice softly and the very next moment another voice yells loudly, "Lunette Demarco wake up!"

She opens her eyes and all she sees is a grey t-shirt and a green plaid shirt jacket both of which she was holding on to the whole time while she was sleeping.
What's when she realises,
'I was cuddling with Percy the whole time I was sleeping', she thinks to herself.
She looks at his face and sees him already looking at her.

"Am I a comfortable pillow?" Percy asks with a smug smile on his face.

Before she could detach herself from him, she could feel a hand around her waist keeping her in place, she ears fo red at the revelation, "Shut up, Jackson!"

Percy chuckles at her reaction and lets go off her, Annabeth hides her smile at their antics.
