ELLE

"I decided to dip my toes into online dating. And let me tell you, the guys who slide into my DMs are something else!" Grace exclaimed, causing Olivia and I to burst into laughter.'

"Online dating? Please. It's a joke. You can't possibly find connections through a screen." Olivia said and I nodded along, taking a bite of my sandwich.

Grace smirked. "Trust me, guys, it's a goldmine of entertainment. The guys who text me are either total creeps or have personality of a wet mop." I couldn't help but laugh. "You never know, your prince charming might be lurking in your DMs." I winked.

Olivia raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Come on, guys. You can't seriously believe in that stuff. Real connections are made in person, not through screen." I nodded in agreement, taking another bite of my sandwich. "You'll only see college dudes playing sports, showing off their muscles." Olivia remarked, we all erupted in laughter.

"Oh, speaking of sports, are you guys going to the basketball game tomorrow night?"

Olivia sighed. "I can't, my parents are dragging me out to some family function."

Grace grinned. "Well, I'm free. And I would love to join you." I returned a smile. Grace nudged me playfully. "Plus, I totally cannot wait to see your hot brother in action on court." I rolled my eyes at her comment.

"Oh, absolutely! Who needs to watch the game when you can enjoy watching Liam and Cameron instead? It's not like the game is important or anything." Olivia said, sarcastically.

"Oh, my god. That's the reason you're going to watch the game. Aren't you?" Grace nudged me with her elbow. I felt a flush creep up my cheeks as I tried to come up with a convincing answer. "No, I just want to support my brother." Olivia and Grace exchanged knowing looks.

"Come on, Elle! We all know you're not the biggest fan of sports."

A small smile played at the corners of my lips. "The first game of the season is very important, so I just want to support my brother."

Grace raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint her eyes. "Hmmm." She nodded her head sideways. "I bet it's not just about that."

"Okay, fine, you got me. I might be a little interested in watching Cam play, but just a little!"

Olivia and Grace exchanged a mischievous look.

"Shoot, I have class." I muttered, pushing my chair back and gathering my belongings. Olivia looked up from her plate. "International Business, right?" I nodded, sighing softly. "I'll catch up with you guys later." With a quick goodbye, I headed towards my class.

Finally, I reached the class and took a deep breath. I pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was already full of students and luckily the professor hasn't arrived yet. I quickly walked over to my designated seat and sank into it. "You saved yourself by a minute there." Jacob teased with a grin.

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, yeah, lucky me." I replied, adjusting my bag on the desk.

The sound of the footsteps echoed down the hallway, signaling the arrival of the professor. The door swung open and Professor Thompson entered, his expression stern as always. "Please turn to page 62." I exchanged a glance with Jacob before turning my attention back to the professor.

My attention was drifting between the professor's lecture and the notebook in front of me. As soon as the professor wrapped up the lecture and dismissed the class, I gathered my belongings, stuffed them into my bag and made my way out, where I spotted Jacob waiting.
