Chey

Recently Vegas was in good spirits, his working hours were peaceful, the adoption process started, though he will just be a foster parent of the kid for now, he was determined to do his best and then he would be able to adopt eventually.

It was a hasty and unforeseen decision for Vegas himself, but he is not going to regret it. He came to pick up Tankhunn who agreed to accompany him to the foster center to fill out some forms and for some questioning before the adoption process kicks in.

Vegas entered the elevator and was about to push the button to tankhunn's floor "wait for me, I'm going up too" a distant voice came, and Vegas stopped.

Chey came rushing and halted outside the elevator as he saw Vegas "Come in" Vegas asked detecting Chey's hesitation. 

"Hello P'Vegas"

"Hey Chey"

There was a long awkward silence now inside the elevator and Vegas wasn't liking it, he tried to strike a conversation.

"How are you lately Chey?"

"Umm, I'm fine Phi, how are you."

"I'm doing good too."

There was a pause again. Even after so long it's still awkward between Vegas and Chey. when Chey first saw Vegas many years back he was kind of scared of Vegas, Vegas was once the infamous Therepanyakun from whom everyone must stay away. But now Vegas was pitiful in everyone's eyes, they all felt sad for Vegas and worried for him, but for Chey it was a little more. 

He was sorry, he also blamed himself for coming back alone. Chey was really thankful to Vegas for rescuing him, but he also knew it was not done for him but for Pete. Vegas was searching for Pete and found Chey and Chey felt guilty for that. he was also aware that he brought sorrow to Vegas, that Vegas was reminded of Pete whenever he saw Chey happy and laughing so he tried to avoid Vegas as much as he can.

Chey can see too how miserable Vegas feels now and he didn't want to add any more to it. chey had seen Vegas when he was the happiest. As Macau's friend Chey was close to Pete too. Macau was like his own son to Pete, he cared a lot about Macau and whenever Chey visited Macau or whenever Pete came, Pete took good care of Chey too.

Chey tried a lot to get rid of the guilt "it's not your fault for coming back alone, Pete must be relieved, even Vegas is glad that he is able to rescue you, so don't blame yourself too much" Porsche has always said and Chey tried but his guilt was too big, he thought he should have protected Pete.

On the day of abduction Pete was visiting Porsche and, on his way out he was telling Porsche that he will visit the local market to get some produce to Cook his grandma's recipe. Chey overheard their conversation, and he pleaded Pete to take him too as he didn't had school that day and was getting bored, and Pete had agreed to it.

And the day was going great, as soon as they reached the market, they had ice-cream, it was a hot day, Pete bought what he needed then they just simply roamed around, had snacks, Pete also bought some favorites of Vegas and Macau.

Suddenly Pete started acting weirdly careful and kept changing streets, when Chey asked what's wrong "Don't look back, keep looking forward and just follow me, we will be back to my car soon" Pete had answered.

They kept moving forward but were cornered eventually and out of nowhere a group of men of big builds and with different weapons came from all sides and surrounded them. Pete pulled Chey towards his back in a protecting stance "No need for violence, let the kid go then you can talk with me" Pete tried to convince them to let Chey go but he failed. Chey was scared but not much, he believed Pete will protect him.

"It will be a pity, we came prepared, and you have done so much damage to our boss already, you need to pay back."

"Ok do whatever you want, beat me but don't dare touch the kid" Pete warned in deep voice.

"Phi Pete" Pete turned back to see Chey crying and shaking "Don't worry Chey, I won't let them make even a single scratch on you" Pete smiled and moved forward slowly.

After Beating Pete mercilessly and leaving him almost unconscious the thugs didn't harm Chey but took him along with Pete.

They kept Pete and Chey in a dark room with bare minimum necessities and will sometimes take Pete out of the room and then drop him back after hours. Chey didn't dare to ask where they took him or what they did to him.

Pete was still healing but with minimum to no medical care his health was deteriorating, he started to look pale and even couldn't digest the little they were provided to eat. Chey was struggling too but for him it was more painful to watch Pete and yet Pete would always smile to him, promising they will be back, that Vegas will get them out soon. As the days passed, it was more agonizing for Chey to watch Pete whimpering in his sleep, taking Vegas' name repeatedly.

Eventually after around two weeks they took Chey away to a different location and Vegas and other cops were able to find him on the 20th day.

Chey has told this story multiple times, To the cops, to Porsche, to Vegas. It was unbearable for Chey to tell all the horrible things directly to Vegas. It was the first time he saw Vegas crying. The evil Therapanyakun who made others tremble with fear was shedding tears. and since then, he had never seen him happy again. He has seen Vegas always smiling to Macau but the smile never reached his eyes, The spark was lost long back.

The pause was quite long and this time it was Chey to break it.

"Macau told me, you are going to adopt a girl, Congratulations Phi" Chey greeted Vegas with a Sencere smile.

"Thank you" Vegas smiled back.

and just then thankfully the elevator door opened and Vegas rushed out.
