Chapter 4

Candy's POV

'Get your head out of the clouds' Mr Smith remarks with gritted teeth sending him a glare before going to grab my luggage from Pearl's room, 𝑖𝑡 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠𝑛'𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒𝑠 𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑠 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑠 𝐼'𝑚 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒. Nicolai and I leave the Smith house and I could already feel that they were celebrating my absence.

We got into his JEEP and he starts driving 𝐼 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑤𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑖𝑠 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑒 the car there was silent and awkward but I wasn't complaining. About an hour later we arrive at his house I grab my luggage and walk in the house, it was way finer that the Smith's,  walking in I notice two people in the living room.

'Sir the guest bedroom is ready shall we take ma'am there?' The lady suggested 'No She knows the way to it ' Nicolai voices out 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑤𝑘𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 after  he leaves I ask the woman to show me the room, I unpack and get ready for bed.

The next morning I wake up at my usual time did some exercise and explored the house, I was in shock when I saw the indoor pool, library and gym. Wondering around a mansion really takes a toll on a person, heading into the kitchen I whip up a quick breakfast for the four of us and set it on the table.

The two people from yesterday entered just as I set down the last plate 'Ms Smith what are you doing? Where did this food come from? 'The woman pointed out with a puzzled look on her face 'I made it silly, is that a problem?' I said unbothered 'you made this' they both say in unison.

'Yes now sit down and eat before it gets cold' I say with a smile on my face hesitantly they take their seats and start eating, we had a light conversation and 30 minutes in Nicolai comes down the stairs wearing a navy blue suit his hair messy but it looked good on him.

The two who were eating happily a minute ago stand up and greet him, I say nothing 'it ohk continue eating' he sits down and eats in silence before leaving for work.

I spent the whole day chatting with Olivia and Luke it turns out they have been working for the Ackerman's for about 30 years now and that they are married. 'We watched Nicolai grow up...its been an honor really' Luke says with teary eyes 'he must have been a handfull' I chuckle, we spend the next four hours talking.

It turns out they have a daughter in South Korea 𝑠ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑦 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚, I tell them a bit of myself but nothing too revealing. I was helping out Olivia in the kitchen when suddenly the doorbell rang Luke went to go get it after some muffled speaking someone shrieked 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING'

I looked up to see Mr and Mrs Ackerman yes I remember them page 19 to 20. 'Just helping her with dinner' I shrug carelessly I could see the disapproval on their faces 'Why are you though it's her job to cook' Mr Ackerman comment 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐼 ℎ𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑟𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑎𝑐𝑡 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑡𝑙𝑒𝑑.

I looked over to Olivia her frown spoke volumes of pain 𝐼 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑𝑛'𝑡 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙 𝑠𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠 'Because I can and want to...unlike you I'm not some preppy selfish person who doesn't consider people's feelings' I snarled they looked at me with utter disbelief 'you associate with these-'

Before she could finish her her sentence Nicolai walks in and suddenly the air got way thicker Mrs Ackerman opened her mouth to speak but Nicolai beat her to it 'What are you doing!? You know what I don't wanna know... Get out' his voice was tight and irritation-riden.

'What do you mean we just got here' Mrs Ackerman snapped, the was a moment of silent 'let's go Maria' Mr Ackerman growled they left the house without so much as a goodbye. We sat down to have dinner in silence, after dinner Nicolai called me to his study...
