TW: Descriptions of Violence, Character Death

Rex was called into the back room to receive a transmission about the war effort. "Care to join, Commander?" He said, turning as he walked.

"No thanks, Rex," Ahsoka replied.

Rex stood in front of the transmitter, waiting. He had a feeling in the pit of his stomach, as though something had happened. He wasn't sure what exactly, but he knew something was up.

On guard, Rex answered the transmission.

"Commander Rex. The time has come. Execute Order 66."

"Yes, Lord Sideous." CT-7567 replied, the feeling in his gut going away, as a voice washed over his mind, smothering everything. It repeated only two phrases: "Good soldiers follow orders," and "Execute Order 66." Sending the order through the com system, he turned and aimed his '17's at the traitor, who had just burst through the door.

"Rex, it's Anakin. I feel something terr-Rex? Rex, what are you doing?" The traitor asked in a shaky voice.

"Ahsoka Tano." He said in a monotone voice. "By execution of Order 66, you and all Jedi leadership are to be executed for treason against the Republic."

"Rex? Rex, listen to me!" The traitor shouted, her voice filled with emotion CT-7567 could not comprehend. "This isn't you!"

In response, he shot her. Three times. In the chest.

She fell to the ground, wheezing. The smell of burnt flesh charred the air. "This--This isn't you---Rex.---."

And with that, Ahsoka Tano was dead.

"Lieutenant 5597," CT-7567 said, turning to the ARC. "Take a few troopers with you and execute Maul. I'll take care of this one."

As he stood, watching the still body of his former commander, his vod'ika, he thought he should've felt something.

But he felt nothing.

Rex was buried deep inside him, begging and screaming to get out, growing weaker every second.

But CT-7567 was empty.
