It was late at midnight, as darkness swept over the sky with rainy clouds taking over, and a heavy downpour that spread across the land completely.

Droplets of rain slowly smeared across the glass of the window. A loud thunder of the clouds was overhead, as through the window was visible the door of the room that was jolted open.

Kavin entered the room disjointed, as he almost fell on his face when he took a step forward, making his drunkenness very apparent.

Purvi took one glance of him and it was enough to get her fuming.

"Bas aa gaye phir peeke!" Exclaimed purvi, frustration seeping through her voice.

"Tum bakwas na hi karo toh acha hai!" Yelled kavin at her, as she was done with him at this point.

"Tum joh meri zindagi mazaak banake baith gaye ho uska kya! Arre khushi kya ek sukoon ka pal nahi de paye ho mujhe! Pyaar nahi, agar izzat bhi nahi de sakte the toh shaadi ki hi kyun! Bhaag kyun nahi gaye apni uss girlfriend ke saath!" Ranted purvi, her irritation had peaked.

"Arre kaise bhaagta! Maa marne ki kadaar pe thi tumhari, uss haalat mein kisi se kaise moh phir sakte ho!" Yelled kavin, as purvi was even more infuriated.

"Maa toh meri humari suhag raat se bhi pehle marr gayi! Tab toh mujh pe taras nahi aaya tumhe...badi asaani se keh diya, shaadi nahi nibhaa sakta! Mere paas kya hai ab? Tum! Joh sewaye badasalukhi ke mujhe kuch nahi de sakta! Mujhe shaadi nahi kisike baddua lagi hai joh tum mile ho!" Yelled purvi, as kavin was feeling his anger tip higher.

"Baddua! Sarr pe chatt, badan pe kapde, pet mein khaana, sab muft mein milta hai tumhe... Taras ke badle! Aisi baddua toh bhagwaan kare sabko lage!" Stated kavin with utmost bitterness.

"Aur meri toh kya hi shaadi kari! Jhannum se bhi bhattar kuch jeete-jee dekha diya... Dil tod ke mujhse alag ho gaya hai mera! Pata hai kyun! Mera dil saara ka saara uska tha! Aur ab, woh meri nahi... Khudh toh gayi, mere andar se jaan lekar chali gayi hai! Lash ki zindagi hogayi hai meri! Toh tum, toh kuch kaho hi nahi.. " Let out kavin his thoughts full of despair, leaving purvi more bitter than she even was before.

He was about to walk away from her, walking to the bed, when she turned back to him.

"Ek kaam karo phir, itni peeyo roz, ki shareer bhi khatam hi ho jayein! Jeene ki formality kyun karte ho!" Yelled purvi, resentment flooding through.

Kavin also turned to face her at this comment. He couldn't help but snicker.

"Mujhe maarne ko utaawli kyun hoti ho... Khudh chali jao apni marri maa ke paas.. Akelapan bhi door hojayega tumhara." Stated kavin bluntly, as purvi was beyond furious, making her go slap kavin across the face.

"Bhagwaan karein tumhe apni maa ko marrte dekhna bhi naseeb na ho!" Cursed purvi, as she walked out of the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind her, as kavin was so furious, he threw the tiny beer bottle in his hand, smashing the glass all over the floor.

                                                                   ***

Purvi walked over to the kitchen and went to the water purifier, and used it to pour water in a glass. She gulped it down immediately, and then she felt kavin creep up behind her.

"Ab kya kehna hai tumhe!" yelled purvi, as kavin looked up, clearly his eyes slightly remorseful.

"tum toh apni maa ke antim sanskaar mein bhi nahi jaa paiye na?" asked kavin politely, as purvi swallowed a lump down her throat, sighing.

"nahi...mujhe tumhare paas hona chahiye tha...mujhse yeh kaha sabne...uss waqt kuch samajh nahi aaya...toh maan bhi liya..." stated purvi with a morose tone, while kavin's eyes showed compunction, as his head went down.

"sorry..." stated kavin lowly, as purvi couldn't help but scoff.

"kya hua aisa 5 minute mein joh 5 din mein nahi hua?" questioned purvi, skeptical.

"tumhe woh sab keh diya pichle aadhe ghante mein, joh kehna chahta tha, bahaut dinon se...but jab kaha toh...bas yahi laga ki kyun kaha yeh!" admitted kavin with repent.

"mujhe bhi aaj, bas aisa gussa aaya....joh pata nahi kyun main rok nahi payi...iss baar..." confessed purvi, as kavin walked over to stand beside her.

"purvi, hum phasse hue hain...par agar hum chahe, hum iss sab se aage badh sakte hai." offered kavin, as purvi looked over his shoulder.

"mauka toh sabko dena chahiye na?" responded purvi, as tight lipped, tiny smile crept across kavin's face, as purvi reciprocated with a wide tight lipped smile.

A glimpse was shared between the two, as the rain took the form of light showers sprinkling across the city, and the pleasant air that erupts before the rain ends, was starting to take over in the atmosphere.

And just like that, one last droplet of rain rolled down the glass of the window.
