I see your softening eyes
And the tilt of your mouth
When you look at her.
Too enraptured to see me
Mirroring the love in your eyes
When I look at you.
"Look at me" I try to say
But no words come out.
Perhaps because I know
How hopeless it is.
I'll never be her.
But please. Look at me.
Just for a second.
Maybe then you'll realise
Everything you want
Is right in front of you.
I know I'm not easy to love
But I swear
I will give you the universe
And a love you never knew existed.
A/N: again, this is kinda amateurish, but I like it because of how raw it is. I would change a lot about it if I could, but I also want to leave it as it is. Maybe because now that I don't feel that way anymore, it's kind of fun to look back at stuff I wrote previously. And man oh man I felt a LOT.
This poem was inspired by the song 'Heather' by Conan Gray. Do y'all know it?
