Humans.
They were becoming a problem.
Not the humans themselves, but rather the information they had gathered. After my friends and I defeated the Neverseen, the Council had given me a blue leaping crystal and ordered me to erase any evidence of the elves. (Why they didn't choose Sophie to do it, I had no idea. It was probably because I had been to ninety percent of the Neverseen's hideouts, and therefore was probably a better candidate.)
The human detectives had been underestimated by the Council, and they had connected the dots and decided that Neverseen existed, and that they were responsible for the many fires in the Forbidden Cities. I had to ask Dex to erase the Neverseen from their technology, and I asked Mr. Forkle to wash the minds of the humans who had seen the Neverseen members before.
Annoyingly, if you searched up Neverseen on Google or Wikipedia, you could still tell something was up. I was musing over possibilities to completely erase the Neverseen when an idea struck me. What was a better way to erase something than if everyone thought it was fiction? Of course, I would need help to carry out my idea. I would need help from Sophie, mainly. And because of his artistic skills, I would need help from Keefe. I would alter our story slightly — I wouldn't include myself in the series. First I would have to write from my point of view — then I would write from Sophie's while deleting myself in the process. Here goes nothing . . .
