Top, left to right: Councillors Ramira, yellow gown, Vanisher, Terik, silver shirt, Descryer, Velia, violet gown, Guster, Darek, read and yellow shirt, Phaser, Zarina, yellow gown, Charger, Noland, blue shirt, Vociferator.

Bottom, left to right: Councillors Oralie, pink gown, Empath, Kenric, amber shirt, Telepath, Liora, yellow-orange-violet gown, Emery, orange-blue shirt, Telepath, Clarette, red gown, Polyglot and Flasher, Bronte, black shirt, Inflictor.

The five of us sat on throne-like chairs on a raised pedestal as people started to come in.

"Linh Song, you have been accused of flooding Choralmere three times and Foxfire one time. Then you were given a warning. But now you have flooded Atlantis. What do you have to say in your defense?" Councillor Emery's voice echoed around the room as people started gossiping about Linh. I glared at them and made a huge sign above all the Councillors' thrones so they wouldn't see it, and wrote 'DO NOT GOSSIP ABOUT LINH SONG', but then everyone started gossiping about me.

'Ugh, crowds.'

"It was an accident," squeaked out Linh in a frightened voice.

I rolled my eyes. "What Linh means to say is that it was an accident we should blame on Quan and Mai. They forced her to go to Atlantis. Not that any of you stuck-up Councillors know what it's like being stranded in the middle of the ocean when you're a Hydrokinetic. And the few of you who are not stuck-up is no more than less than a third of you and you don't even bother changing the unfair laws in the Lost Cities!" I accused.

"And you, Anh Song, are accused of eavesdropping on two Emissaries' conversation. What do you have to say?" responded Councillor Emery.

" They didn't talk about top-secret stuff and, Quan's my father!" I shot back.

Councillor Emery closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. I half-wanted to mess with his brain cells, and I fully wished him a headache.

He held out his hands. " Enough! We have come to a majority decision," he said, looking at Kenric and Oralie. "Linh Song is to be banished to Exillium. Anh Song will work two weeks in the Sanctuary."

'What? Seriously? He expects us to part different ways? No way.'

Tam seemed to be thinking the same thing, because he said," I want to go with Linh." He said, ever the sweet brother to Linh.

"I want to go with her too. It's a better punishment than the Sanctuary isn't it?" I asked rhetorically.

"Tam, please don't go-" Mai begged, interrupted by Tam shaking his head.

"No. I'm going with Linh and you can't stop me."

Councillor Emery nodded. "You may both go with Miss Song. You have 30 minutes to pack and go to the Neutral Territories. Your uniforms will be at Choralmere before you leave."

And with that, we went home and started packing.

I brought the following:

A human backpack. Hey, illegally going to the Forbidden Cities is good practice, I guess.Seven bottles of Youth. Six thin blankets.A notebook and a pen.A few packages of brattails, porcaroot pie, and a few pieces of fruit. Temporary crystal makers, a crystal to Foxfire, a blue crystal and my home crystal.A hairbrush.A magnifying glass. Two changes of clothing. The Exillium uniform.

"Ready?" asked Linh as soon as she saw we were all finished packing. (And after I hailed Marella good-bye)

"Ready," Tam and I chorused.

"Let's go then," I ventured,"How bad could Exillium be?"

Tam grabbed a Neutral Territories crystal the Council gave us. "Let's go."

Ember: I'm updating a lot so I won't have to do it later.
