Tak Tak
I heard footsteps closing in to me.
"Cale-ssi?"
It was Sangah.
Her voice was uneasy and wavering. She was probably doubting that it was really me that called her.
I looked up at the silhouette of Sangah. Even with the fog covering most of her face, I could feel a sense of worry from her.
"Yes, Sangah-ssi?"
"Oh, Cale-ssi! I'm glad your okay!"
I only replied to her yet I could feel the sense of relief in her voice.
'That's not good.'
If it really wasn't me, or maybe it was a monster of some sort, she wouldn't survive.
Just because I called her a d replied to her doesn't man I'm the real thing. Of course, I doubt it would be me if a monster actually did imitate someone to lure her towards them. However, she still has to be careful.
"Um, Cale-ssi, if you don't mind me asking…"
"Go ahead."
Her voice had a hint of embarrassment as she spoke to me. I was confused but just responded stoically.
"Well, the three hugging you are…"
"Ahem, well, Choi Han, Alberu and Namwoon. They keep asking me to not go. "
"Aha, right…
I saw the silhouette of Sangah's head turn to the side. Even her voice had hints of hesitation, embarrassment and excitement.
'An odd combination.'
Maybe hesitation and embarrassment is okay but why excitement? What was there to be excited about?
"Everyone, calm down and take deep breaths."
Dokja's voice entered my ears. Seems like he woke up already.
"S-Soldier Lee Hyunsung. Did you hear wrong?"
"I was wrong. I was wrong, Mother!"
"T-This dog bastard!"
I felt creases on my brows. I didn't like that Gilyoung was crouched on the floor. I knew he would be like this thanks to 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' but I still don't like it.
This kid… He was the same as Dokja and Namwoon.
'I should feed him more later.'
I should feed him more delicious food. He is still a kid yet he acts so mature. He is too young. Even the children averaging nine aren't like this.
Raon, On, Hong…. I wonder how they're doing.
I do hope they are eating well. They shouldn't worry about anything and only play, sleep, eat, smile and laugh.
'Sigh… I should get this over quickly.'
I need to hurry and return to the kids and family.
"…Dokja-ssi?"
I heard Sangah's voice from above.
This happened in the memories. It was good that things were still going normally.
Another silhouette was closing in to both of us. It was obviously Dokja.
His voice was heard again.
"Cover the surroundings. From now on, I will destroy this space."
Sangah nodded.
The fog started to retreat and Phantom Prison disappeared, one by one, the others were appearing.
"O-Our resolve! We are the South Korean army, loyal to the nation and the people!"
"Uh…Uh…Mother."
Just as the memories, Sangah came up first.
"Lee Hyunsung-ssi? Gilyoung! Please wake up!"
A blade split the air. Heewon was waving her blade around aimlessly.
"…I will kill all of you."
Dokja hit the back of Heewon's neck.
'Ooo, that looks like it hurt.'
But seriously, how did he know how to do that? I mean, this isn't like those martial arts novel where there are those. Maybe he read it from other novels? Nah, no way. This man has no life. He literally spent 10 years reading a single novel.
"Yoo Sangah, please look after Jung Heewon-ssi."
"…Yes, yes!"
"It isn't over yet."
[You have met the conditions to clear the sub-scenario!]
[You have earned 300 coins.]
Was he trying to act cool or something? I mean, just look at him, he's definitely trying to hard. Actually, those he not see me? I'm practically invisible now.
The specter appeared after the messages popped up. Dokja handled them with ease and retrieved the specter stone.
I patted the three people hugging me.
They weren't sobbing anymore and their grip loosened. The only problem was that they were all sleeping on my lap.
"Choi Han, Alberu , Namwoon-ah."
I shook three of them vigorously but to no avail. They were all out cold.
"What should I do to wake them?"
I spoke under my breath.
Choi Han and Alberu had never been deep sleepers. Namwoon, yes. Should I wake him up like how I wake him up for school?
…. I could.
I rummaged through my spatial pouch in search of my phone.
There still had 93 percent. I charged it in the teachers office and shut it down in the subway. I didn't use it since.
I went to the alarm ringtone and tapped on it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH————"
"Eya!"
'Works like a charm.'
The corners of my lips were twitching up. I could feel a smirk creeping up my face.
Namwoon finally woke up and the rest of Dokja's party is startled and looking my way.
'Perfect.'
Not perfect actually. Can't they look away?
Gilyoung was slowly approaching me. I already knew why without asking. I spread my arms and hugged him. He was just a child after all, no matter how mature he acts.
"Who are you? Don't you know that this area is our hunting ground?"
