"I'm sorry, I just don't love you anymore."

He said while letting out a sigh.

At once Mimi's heart dropped.

How could this be? She thought. We were doing so well before.

"What about all those things you promised me? About us being together forever, and how you would be my boyfriend as long as it took until we would be married,"

Mimi cried tears filling her eyes.

He looked at her, mimis tears rolling down her face,

"I'm sorry mimi but, I just don't see you the same way anymore."

Mimi looks down,

"I-I understand, thank you for telling me."
She wipes some tears from her face. "Can I hug you one last time?"

He nodded as he drew in close to her , she hugged his body tightly, never wanting to let go.

"I love you Max, and I don't know why."
She said with one final sob,
he left her as he walked around the corner not looking back.

Mimi sighed and wiped her tears heading to the car.

It's over, she thought. How can his love be gone so quickly just like that. I just.. I don't understand,

Mimi started sobbing again.

It hurts so much, she thought as tears were streaming down her face.

~The Next Day~

Mimi sat on the bleachers with all the hope and joy taken out of her eyes.

It's over, she thought. No more calls, no more Friday nights, no more emotional support, no more cuddles or kisses, no more goodnights. What do I do with my life now?

She thought tears started to fill her eyes.

I-I don't know what to do, I feel so lost without him.

Mimi buried her face in her hands just wanting the pain to end. Suddenly Mimi hears a voice,

"Um are you doing okay Mimi?"

Mimi looks up at the bright lights hurting her eyes. Her eyes focus as she sees Brandon.

"Oh! Brandon hey! Yeah I'm alright just.. Tired is all,"she says trailing off.

Brandon frowns,
"Are you sure Mimi? Is something troubling you?"

Mimi sighs,
"Just have a lot on my mind is all, you know how it is."

Mimi laughs awkwardly.

Brandom smiles, "yeah I do,"he moves over to the ladder and climbs up sitting next to Mimi.

"So.. what's on your mind then?"
He asks, sitting down next to her.

Mimi sighs, "Something happened recently that really changed everything around so I guess i'm just having a hard time accepting it."

Mimi looks down trying not to cry again in front of Brandon.

Brandon leans back against the wall,
"yeah... I've had that happen to me too. If you want to talk about it I'm always willing to talk,"he smiles looking at Mimi.

"Well it might be nice to get it off my chest," Mimi says looking up.

"Me and Max broke up and I'm having a hard time accepting that it's really over. I feel lost honestly. I don't know how to react or feel ,things just feel numb but also really painful at the same time."

Brandon smiles, "I see..., It's unfortunate you two broke up but It's normal to not know how to feel about it. It's recent and the wound is still open, it takes time to heal. Just take time to yourself."

Mimi smiles, "Yeah that's a good idea."

Brandon frowns, "If I may.. Uh, how did you two even break up?
Uh, if you don't want to share that's totally fine I..."

Mimi sighs, "He said he didnt love me anymore."

She looks down as the tears start to form again.

" I see.."Bradon leans forward deep in thought.
"Well...that is hard to hear isn't it? I can tell you this, boys don't love as much or as deeply as girls do. We just kinda want to figure everything out you know? Just trying to figure out ourselves. I'm sure it has nothing to do with you. He is just trying to figure out himself, his paths, and what he wants to do."

Mimi sighs, biting her lip,
she knew he was right and she also knew the relationship wasn't going to last forever but she wanted to think it would.

Mimi smiles looking up at
Brandon,

"Thanks Brandon I really appreciate your advice. I'm glad to have you as my friend."

Brandom smiles,
friend.., he thinks, If she wants to be just friends then that's what's gonna happen.
