The Wed-lock

*His pov*
I came running into the hospital. A few minutes ago I got a call from prathik. "Mahanth got into an accident last night" that's what he said and asked me to come.

I asked the receptionist about him and she said he is on the 3rd floor so I quickly ran up there. I saw prathik and his parents outside the OT. He was consoling his mom and his dad who sat there crying for their son.

I made my way towards them and tried consoling them. His father got up and came towards us and asked "what happened last night? Did you both get into a fight nihal?"

"Actually uncle we were drunk last night and we got into a small fight due to some misunderstanding and he left". I said what happened skipping the part which involved Anaya.

"It doesn't seem like a small fight by looking at three of your faces. What was the misunderstanding?". Shit what should I say now. I think I should be honest now. Mahanth is in the hospital and they need to know the truth including me.

I was about to speak but a doctor came out of his room and his parents quickly got up to know his condition including me. "The operation was successful. There are a lot of injuries to his body. And i think he's diagnosed with stress. I think there's something he is stressed about, so don't disturb him and let him rest. He will be shifted to the general ward in an hour". Saying this the doctor left.

After an hour, he was shifted to the general ward but was still unconscious. His parents were inside the room but me and prathik were outside.

"How did he get into an accident?"

"I don't know. After I left home today I went directly to mahanth's house and there was no one inside. He wasn't even answering the call so I called his mother and she said that he was admitted in the hospital. Then I informed you" Prathik said.

After a while mahanth woke up. His mom came out wiping ger tears and informed us about it. And then his father went out to buy his medicines. We convinced his mom to go home and freshen up because she has become soo weak.

After everyone left me and prathik went inside. As soon as we entered mahanth saw us and said "Can you please not talk to me nihal. I don't even want you around my sight if you want me alive".

Now this is hurting me. What did I do? My friends who I thought was my everything just asked me to get out of his life. Prathik just patted on her shoulder and said "nihal let him stay alone for sometime. He just got up. Come let's go"

We both came outside but mahanth only asked me to get out not prathik so I asked prathu to go inside and talk to him. I just sat there outside hoping everything's okay.

I don't know what to think. I don't know what to do. I don't know where I have gone wrong. What I did exactly that is triggering him right now.

After a while prathik came outside. Now I need my answers. He said "nihal I think you need rest now. As we are already inside the hospital you better go treat your face. He is asleep".

"What are you both hiding from me?"
To which prathik just sighed and said "I'm not the right person to tell you all this nihal. You are not well too so go take rest. Don't worry mahi is okay".

But I'm not okay. The questions are eating my brain up. But I treated my wounds and left.

I entered my room and saw her on the bed, lost in some thoughts. All this has happened because of her. She did everything. She has to pay for it now. I think she's soo happy now.

I went towards her and slapped her across the face. She looked shocked. She held her cheek and tears started to brim in her eyes. Her tears are always ready to escape from the situation.
