The panic inside of both that dingy bathroom and small storage closet seemed to escalate by the minute.
The clock was ticking by, minutes turned to hours in the blink of an eye. If Lucille looked away from the clock for what felt like 5 simple minutes, she'd check back to see that 30 minutes had gone by. Adam and Lawrence were running out of time searching for clues. After analyzing his tape, Lawrence figured out that there was something hidden inside of the old, grimy toilet beside Adam. Lucille had watched in agony as Adam stuck his hand into the disgusting toilet bowl, only to discover their first set of items were hidden in the tank behind it.
Two bone saws wrapped in a garbage bag were waiting to be found. Lucille watched closely as Adam opened the bag and pulled them out, seeming to do a double-take inside the bag. By the way he tossed it into the bathtub, Lucille had a feeling there was something else in that bag that he didn't want Lawrence to see. Immediately both men got to work on trying to break their chains.
It became clear that it was no use when Adam's saw snapped in half.
"Fuck!" He shouted in a frustrated burst. He slammed the saw against the rusted pipes before him, further breaking it into pieces.
Lucille watched, a frown on her dry lips. It seemed like nothing was working in Adam's favor; this game was set up for him to die, and now his saw was broken. If there was another way to escape using that saw, Adam just screwed up any chance of being able to use it. Lucille hated to admit that it was frustrating to watch, he was so erratic and scared that it was causing him to act out. If he continued to make bad decisions, it would only make things worse for him. She wished more than anything that she could get through to him and help in any way she could.
Adam concluded his fit of rage by chucking his saw at the camera, making Lucille's whole body jump. She expected the camera to break and turn off, causing her to lose the only way she could see him. But instead, it seemed like he broke glass. A piece had fallen onto the bathroom floor, making the footage slightly clearer. Now Lucille knew that the camera was being protected by a glass shield, but it made her wonder why they still hadn't acknowledged that it was recording them.
As Adam dropped to the ground, breathing heavily, Lawrence ceased his attempt as breaking his chains. The two men sat quietly in defeat. Where could they possibly have gone from there? All possible routes seemed to fail miserably. Lucille prayed that all of this time wouldn't be wasted on a treasure hunt. She felt her own heartbeat rising in her chest as a wave of anxiety washed over her. Things were looking grim.
But then, Lawrence suddenly sat up and looked down at his saw.
"He doesn't want us to cut through our chains." He spoke, making his realization known. "He wants us to cut through our feet."
