When Lucille's day of attending classes and work came to an end, she headed straight back to her apartment. As usual, she had plans to spend the evening with Adam. Except rather than being excited, she was dreading it.

Scott Tibbs was not only Adam's friend, but also the worst person Lucille had ever met. He was a complete asshole. Lucille despised him from the moment they met, and Scott wasn't very fond of her either. It was rare that the two got along when they were around each other. Lucille didn't fully understand why Adam kept him around; He despised Scott almost as much as she did. But regardless, as long as Scott was around, Lucille knew she wouldn't have a good time.

And unfortunately, he would be at Adam's apartment when she got there.

When she arrived, she mentally prepared herself to be in the presence of Scott for the night. Usually Scott would talk about nothing but himself, or his shitty metal band, or would waste his voice spitting 'joke' insults at either Adam or Lucille. It was painful to sit through, but Lucille had promised Adam that she would tolerate it when she had to.

As she got up to the floor where Adam's apartment was located, she could already hear the faint sound of music blaring loudly. She approached his front door and knocked, hoping it was loud enough for Adam to hear. After a moment the door swung open, revealing him standing on the other side.

"Hey, Lu." Adam spoke cheerfully. He was relieved that she finally made it, now he didn't have to deal with Scott on his own.

"Hi." Lucille replied, stepping into the apartment. The two embraced tightly and Adam placed a quick kiss on her head, making her smile.

"Well, look who it is." Scott's drunken voice sneered. He joined the couple in the living room with a bottle of beer in hand. "Hey there, Lucille."

Lucille was already annoyed. "Hi, Scott." She spoke with a short tone.

The two said nothing else to one another. Scott collapsed down on the couch while Adam and Lucille made their way into his room so that she could set her bag and jacket down.

"How was your day?" Adam asked when they entered the bedroom.

Lucille placed her purse down on Adam's bed before she turned back to him. She had told him that she would call him when she finished her classes, but her last one of the day had run longer than expected so she had to rush to work. She had a feeling Adam was probably bummed out about it.

"It was good." She answered. "I'm sorry I didn't call, psych ran late so I had to hurry to work."

"It's okay." Adam shrugged. "I'm just glad you're here now."

Lucille smiled and leaned into him, placing a sweet kiss on his lips. "Me too. How long has Scott been here?"

"Too long." Adam muttered.
