I feel like I'm getting distanced from my friends with each passing day. Other than the fact that I'm growing taller at a supernatural rate, some other things about my body are also changing. One of my eyes had switched from a vibrant blue-green to the same yellow color as the very things that killed my parents and so many more. My other eye was still normal though. I've been getting more interested in weird stuff, like weapons and cyber-attacks, and the bullies that bullied me for having glasses won't even come near me anymore.
My brother and I play basketball. We were both obviously pretty good at it due to our height advantage, but I got crowned the 2370-71 MVP for the season. Sure, most basketball players are 51 or 52 inches, but my brother and I were 53 and 54 respectively. 53 inches was thought to be barely possible, but 54 seemed impossible, let alone my new height of 58 inches. My brother is the only person who's been with me through it all, and I'm still scared to death of (and have a burning hatred for) Murder Drones, even though they don't seem very hostile to me anymore. Could this all be because of that injection I got?
The next day, I feel even more tired. I've been really tired lately, is something... changing about me? I've just passed it off as just needing more sleep, but I can't get more sleep. I have school, basketball, it's all a nightmare. I can't get any work done, and if I want to become an engineer I'm going to need straight A's, but it just seems out of reach. But school is finally over now. I barely walk home, make it to my room, sit down on my bed, and just collapse. This is the best sleep I've gotten ever since my parents died, and I felt like I slept for hours. Thankfully, tomorrow is Saturday, and I can sleep in.
I wake up, and feel different. Taller, and my back feels weird. I see my brother is already up and watching TV, and go over to say hi to him. "Good morning Alex, do you know what time it is? I think I might've slept in a little."
He takes a single look at me and runs out of our apartment screaming.
