Quickly as possible, probably quicker than Aslan's return, the Brothers and beavers climbed one of the nearby trees to make it appear that they were no longer in the area, and to hide from the wolf pack. Below, the friendly sly fox brushed away the mutants' and beavers' scent with his bushy tail, hearing the wolf pack draw nearer with the greatest howls and barks.

Then, they watched the pack of wolves burst into the clearing, surrounding the fox, and circling him to intimidate him. "Greetings, gents! Lost something, have we?"

Maurgrim growled at Fox. "Don't patronize me! I know where your allegiance lies. We're looking for some turtles." He said, still circling Fox.

The smaller canine chuckled nervously. "Turtles? Here in Narnia?" He asked. "That's a valuable bit of information, don't you think?"

Instantly, one of the other wolves sneaks up on Fox, sinking his teeth into his back, causing Fox to cry out in pain and shock. Mikey gasped sharply in the tree with his brothers and the Beavers. To keep his brother quiet, Donnie slapped a hand over his little brother's mouth. "Sh!"

"Your reward is your life!" Maurgrim laughed at Fox. "It's not much, but still... Where are the fugitives?"

The Brothers and Beavers watched the wolf pack closely with Fox, waiting to see what the answer would be. Finally, Fox breathed out, panting deeply and giving a false answer, and hoped the pack would fall for it. "North." He pointed with his paw as he dangled from the wolf's mouth. "They ran north."

Maurgrim believed him and looked at his pack members. "Smell them out!" He ran in the opposite direction of where they stood, leaving the area and their barks and howls becoming faint. Before they left, the wolf that held Fox firmly had thrown his light body across the small area, only making him feel more discomfort. From what they could see, the Brothers and Beavers peer down at their wounded ally and begin to climb down to assist him.

Donatello started a fire as soon as they were on the cold snowy ground again and Mrs. Beaver helped Fox to his feet. While Fox was getting the care he needed, he shared what had happened recently. "They were helping Tumnus. The Witch got here before I did." He referred to the stoned animals, including Beaver's friend, Badger. "Ow!" He flinched.

"Are you okay, man?" Mikey asked Fox.

Fox chuckled at the young turtle. "Well, I wish their barks were worse than their bite. Ow! He yelped again.

"Quit squirming! You're worse than Beaver on bath day..." Mrs. Beaver says to Fox.

"Worst day of the year." Beaver whispered.

Fox groaned lightly as he got up from Mrs. Beaver's lap. "Thank you for your kindness, but I'm afraid that's all the cure I have time for." He stood up, standing next to the fire and getting a long look at the three Turtle Brothers.

"You're leaving?" Mikey questioned the fox.

Fox bowed to the youngest reptile. "It has been a pleasure, My King, and an honor. but time is short and Aslan himself has asked me to gather more troops." He smiled.

When Mikey was addressed as a King, he wasn't exactly sure how to feel about it because he hardly understood what that meant right now. He's very excited to know about it, though.

The Beavers exclaimed with excitement when Fox mentioned Aslan, the real Kind of Narnia. "You've seen Aslan?" Beaver asked Fox.

Mrs. Beaver is very eager to know about her King's presence. "What's he like?"

"Like, everything we've ever heard." This only made the fox smile wider, happier than he'd ever been. "You'll be glad to have him by your side in the battle against the Witch."
