You and Eden found yourself in a theatre, watching a Shakespearean play in Queen Elizabeth's era.

"Well, this is better than watching Nero butcher others" Eden whispers in your ear.

"Yes, the taming of the shrew is way better"

You mumble as you continue to watch the play.

Eden and you try to blend in with the audience, but your clothes stand out too much.

You can tell that the rest of the theatergoers are giving us strange looks, but you try to ignore them and focus on the play.

When the play finally ends, you both stand up with the rest of the audience and applaud loudly.

"I wish I had my phone with me, I would have loved to record this" you admit.

"Well, you should be grateful that you are still in one piece and pray that we return back to our timeline safe"

You playfully roll your eyes at Eden.

"I need to go, get some fresh air, you want to come with me?"

"No, I will just stay here to watch the next play"

You smile as Eden declines your offer.

Good, because you are off to steal some clothes for him and yourself.

°°°

Maybe stealing the theatre's clothes wasn't a good idea after all, and choosing to put on the male's clothes because they are the only available ones.

Shakespeare caught you but thought you were the actor for  Ophelia.

Yes, an actor, not an actress, because he thinks you are a man, and women weren't allowed on stage in this era.

"Why are you not dressed in Juliet's outfit?"

Before you could explain anything, Shakespeare searches around for the needed dress until he finds it and hands it to you.

A dress that was hidden behind a small chaise lounge.

"Nice wig, it looks real" he says before pushing you behind the screen to change.

Once you change in the dress which thankfully covers your chest area completely.

Once you come out from behind the screen, Shakespeare looks in shock at you.

"Did you fake those breasts?"

"Yes, I filled the spaces up with handkerchiefs?"

You have to admit that it is truly remarkable how, until now, he has remained ignorant to the fact that you are a woman.

°°°

Apparently, you are to play Ophelia in Act 3 Scene 1 in Hamlet.

And of course, you have not practiced the lines.

You don't know the lines!

Yes, you have read Hamlet, but you can't just remember the lines easily.

You wished to stay silent, but the stares of the crowd and how the actor playing Hamlet is staring at you, pleading for you to say anything.

In the crowd, Eden looks at you with 'why are you up there?'

"My good lord...how have you been?"

You can see William cussing to himself from behind the curtains when you say that line.

"I humbly thank you, well, well." Hamlet's actor replies

You want to run off stage, but you are pretty sure Shakespeare will catch you before you can even do that.

"I came here to end our relationship"

You know that this is clearly not in the play.

But right now you have no choice but to make things up.

The actor of Hamlet walks closer to you and whispers in a low voice.

"Those are not the lines, say the lines correctly" the man scolds you angrily.

"You have sent me presents, I came to return them and end this sinful relationship"

You continue making up the lines.

Honestly, you now remember this scene, it's where Hamlet blames Ophelia or women in general for making men behave in an evil way

"What art thee declaring?"

Hamlet's actor inquires, trying not to break out of character.

"I'm declaring that I do not need a mad man like you in my life, I cannot disrespect my family any longer, farewell"

With that you end the scene and was about to walk to the back of the stage.

But what stops you is the clapping of the audience.

It appears, that Eden is the first to stand up and clap loudly, causing the rest to do the same as a way to copy him.

Women did it to catch Eden's attention.

The people like your cliche made up scene...

...but the look on Shakespeare face speaks otherwise.
