Blood/gore warning in the first paragraph!

Gonna be a bit of a short chapter but it was just a random idea my friend came up with and I wanted to write it! Also let's pretend there's a piano in the basement and Hunter and Gus aren't sleeping there, Willow is.

Willow's POV

I woke with a start, drenched in sweat and tears rolling down my face. I racked my brain for memory of what the the nightmare had been but all that came to mind was sheer, hypnotic, yet vague terror. Running....running from what? My clothes a mix of viscera, sweat and blood.....whose blood? Something chasing me, my mind broken, now only able to run to escape death..... The strange thing though, the part that didn't make sense; I still felt exhausted despite it only being a dream.

I jolted out of memories, finding myself twiddling my fingers anxiously. I rose up and crept towards the piano shrouded in shadow in the corner of the room. I started to play a soft melody, humming out the tune to the song Champagne Problems by Taylor Swift.

(Look, if you don't like Taylor Swift, I'm fine with that. But don't hate on me for having my own interests. You can pretend it's a different song, or just leave.)

Hunter's POV

I awoke to the sound of music. I rubbed my eyes groggily, sitting up and stretching my jaws in a yawn. I rolled my shoulders, loosening up my muscles before getting up to investigate the music, and find its source. It seemed to coming from the basement. Tiptoeing across the carpeted floor lining the hallway, I muttered, "Either Taylor Swift broke into our basement, or an angel. Maybe both." Then a worrying thought bolted through my head, awakening me fully, 'Is the captain okay?!' I panicked a little, then assured myself that Willow knew how to take care of herself. Still, she might need my help. I sped up, silently creeping down the basement stairs.

There, in the dark, Willow sat, perched on the piano stool, playing beautifully. She played the last few finishing notes, and I stood there, entranced. "Wow." It was only one word, my voice hushed and blanketed by the smother of night, but the green-haired girls' ears twitched, and her head turned towards me. Willow jumped when she saw my scarlet eyes lighting the silent night, like pools of blood lit by a flashlight. A small chirrup escaped her lips. "Hunter, is that you?" I nodded, padding towards her.

"Wow..it's-that was just-so, so, beautiful. It felt like being transported to a whole other realm, a realm of music." Willow's eyes sparkled like the thousands of stars lighting the night sky and she blushed at the praise. The blood rushed into my cheeks, lighting them a dark crimson as I realized how cheesy I had just sounded. "Can you teach me?" The words slipped out of my mouth before I knew I was saying them. A grin broke across the fair skinned girls' face. "Of course," she replied happily. I softly smiled, and thanked her.

Sitting down between the greenettes' legs, I felt a rosy blush dust my cheeks as she gently took my leather gloves, delicately peeling them off. "Provides better playing ability," Willow explained softly. She picked up my scarred hands in her own well moisturized ones. She played out a few simple keys whispering out the lesson, what the notes were, how to play and ect.

A half hour had passed, Willow had taught me the basics, and we kind of just sat there, slowly breathing in each others warmth. Willow nuzzled her chin into the crook of my neck sleepily, and a surge of comfort washed over me, blanketing me with drowsiness. I could tell the olive green eyed girl sitting with me was nodding off too, her breathing slow and rythmactic. Almost lost in the maze of sleep, four words unconsciously slipped out,

"I love..you,..Captain..".

Y'okay ending on that! Sorry if this chapters wording was a little weird, it's just, I read all these other authors fan fictions, and they are so poetic and beautiful, they really reach out and touch you, it comes across as emotional and makes it feel real.

What I'm try'na say is I wanted it to feel like your right there with me in this scene in my head.

Anyways, remember to drink/eat something today! I love you! <3
