Chapter 3

"Hello sir!" The lady at the desk greeted Tecchou when he walked in. The daycare had finally opened back up after a month. What happened? He'l never know.

"Hi miss." Tecchou said walking up to her. "She's doing ok this morning. A little sleepy though. Oh and I haven't fed her yet, but I did bring some food for her." Tecchou said taking out a tin from his pocket. The woman smiled at him.

"Oh that's good. Again I'm really sorry for being closed the last month, I know how your schedule is."

"Oh it's fine, it's not your fault Tatia." Tecchou then handed a sleepy Mei over to the woman— Tatia.

"Oh you poor thing, I'll be sure to put her down for a nap after breakfast." She said also taking the bag and tin of food Tecchou handed her.

"Yeah." He answered then turned down to his sister with a soft smile on his face. "Ok I'll see you later then Mei Mei." He placed a small kiss on the sleepy babies head before taking off.

Little did he know Tatia dumped the food he had packed for Mei and instead gave her the food the chef made. Like hell she was giving this child whatever food combination it was this time.

Walking into HQ was refreshing. It was the first time in a month he hadn't walked in with the weight of a bag and baby on him. Not that it ever hindered him, it was just refreshing knowing she was back to daycare and spending her day in such a dangerous place.

But alas Tecchou didn't make three feet through the door before getting tackled by Teruko. She kept moving his cape around as if looking for something.

"Where's Mei Mei!" She finally yelled grabbing him by his shirt. "WHERE'S MY BABY!!!"

"She's not your baby."

"WHATEVER WHERE IS SHE!!!"

"Daycare. They finally opened again and I said I'd get her out of the office as soon as I can." Teruko stared at him. He stared back.

And with that Teruko was on the floor crying and being her dramatic self. And that's when Jouno decided to walk in.

"What's going on?"

"Tecchou's a m-monster!!!" Teruko sobbed. Jouno just stared. Or well as much as a blind man can.

"..."

"..."

"Explain."

"I left her at daycare." Jouno gasped.

"You left her with strangers!"

"Y-yea he d-did!" Teruko made out through sobs. "HE'S A MONSTER!!!"

"You do realize she's known them longer than you guys right?"

"..."

"..."

"..."

Teruko then sobbed even harder. "It's not fair!!!" Jouno then bent down and patted her head.

"It's ok, we'll just have the daycare shut down and she'll be back here in no time."

"Wait what—"

"R-really?"

"Yup. Now Tecchou what's the name of the daycare you use?"

The next day Mei was back in the office.

It's been about a few months now. Tecchou has been forbidden from putting Mei into a daycare and there was a little section of certain rooms set up with a pen to entertain her.

That's how they got where they were now. Tecchou had put Mei down in her corner to play while he got some paper work done but when he looked back she was gone. Teruko was going to kill him.

Tecchou rushed all around the HQ looking for this girl but he couldn't find her any where, where a could she have possibly gone?

"Yea that's it. There you go." He heard a soft voice. He opened the door to the meeting room and was met with an adorable sight.

Teruko was helping Mei walk. She held her arms up to support the baby, while said baby took careful heavy steps. She was dressed in her bear onesie again and had her pacifier in her mouth. Her hair had grown out a bit too and was in two little pig tails with red ribbons.

Tecchou smiled watching this sight. It was adorable. But then Teruko did something that sent pure panic through him. She let go. Teruko stood over the baby ready to catch her if she fell and Tecchou was ready to duck to black her fall. But she didn't.

Mei stood still. She put her arms out to balance a bit but then took another step. Then another. Soon she was humming in delight and walking all over the room.

Tecchou knelt down and smiled softly at his sister. She was so small, so cute. Dancing around the room without a care. Her eyes filled so much wonder and happiness. So naive to the world and its cruelties.

Mei then spotted her big brother in the entrance and ran toward him. Well as best a little toddler could. Tecchou looked down at his sister as she finally reached him and clung to his pant leg. He then picked her up and nuzzled her softly, she giggled.

"Thanks for watching her."

"She is my baby." Tecchou was too happy to argue with Teruko.

Here's chapter 3. If the characters seem a bit ooc that's because they're interacting with a literal baby so they'll be more accurate as she gets older.
