Chapter 11: Talk With a Savior

After waking up and opening the window in your room, you breathed in the fresh air and took a stroll, seeing pictures with yourself, Blake, and all your friends who you hung out with over the past few months.

You put on your regular clothes and left the Belladonna's house and through Menagerie, where you waved at a few of the passing Faunus.

"Yeah, It's been a few months since Haven Academy was saved from being destroyed," you thought. "With the Faunus Militia taking part in saving it, people started to have a different opinion on the Faunus now. Blake's dad has even started a new movement to succeed the former White Fang, which is now falling apart due to Adam's failure and the deserter Cain taking responsibility for his crimes and revealing what he knows about their operations and bases. I should talk to him. I want to hear from him if what Adam said is true. Luckily, he's held in a prison on Menagerie."

Blake appeared right behind you and covered your eyes.

Blake: "Guess who."

"You can't fool me, Blake."

She removed her hands and walked in front of you.

Blake: "Sometimes, you're no fun."

"Good morning to you too, Blake."

She laughed a little and kissed you.

Blake: "So where are you going?"

"To go talk to Cain. I need to know why he saved me."

Blake: "Let's go together then."

"Okay."

You and Blake went over to the prison and entered the high-security area. You saw a wolf Faunus with red hair and white eyes drinking from a soda can.

"Cain?"

Cain: "Long time no see, kid. I knew you'd make a change in the world."

You sat down in the chair in front of him.

"Adam said you're the one who saved me years ago."

Cain: "One thing Adam never does is forget. I did save you when you were a kid. Did Adam tell you why?"

"He said my village was destroyed just like yours, and you chose to save me when I fell into the lake."

Cain took another sip of his soda.

Cain: "I lost everything when I was your age. My family, my home, everything I cared about. The humans didn't help nor did they didn't care. I joined the White Fang when they promised to take matters into their own hands. I believed in the cause for years, until the day your village was attacked. The Grimm destroyed everything, and you were about to die. I remembered everything about what happened to me and saw how it was no different from what was happening to you. When you fell, I killed the Grimm and pulled you out of the lake."

Blake: "Then you got him to Mistral where he would be given care."

Cain: "It was then that I realized for all my reasons to hate the humans, I was no better than them. So I left the White Fang and was on the run for years. But when you both rallied the Faunus to protect Haven, I saw that peace was possible. And when people started to believe in the Faunus, I thought it was time to finally take responsibility for all my crimes. The White Fang turned to blind hatred. It was time I do my part to end it."

Blake: "So, if it wasn't for you, Y/N wouldn't be here and I never would've met him?"

Cain: "You two remind me of myself and someone else who was special. Protect that at all costs. We may have won the war against a mastermind, but there will still be challenges that'll come our way."

"We'll be ready. Thank you, Cain, for everything."

Cain: "Take care, kid."

You and Blake left the prison and set off for home. On the way home, Blake held your hand and you held hers back.
