⚠️SELF HARM, MINOR BLOOD⚠️

•The house was silent, with only the water from the shower running. Tom sat on the edge of the bed with his head hung low. His hand covered his face. Tears dripped out his palm while small streams of blood ran up his forearm. A little piece of metal was placed next to him. Stained with a bit of blood.
The scars were hideous. Supposedly.
Tom hated the scars that covered his body. His self-conscious level had risen significantly ever since. No scar would be left uncovered. Anytime he went into public, he would always wear a jacket and a mask. Jake was the only intimate person to see his scars. Since they lived together.
On the other hand, Jake begs to differ.
Jake loves his scars. Ever single one. Any chance he gets, he traces the scars. Most of the chances are when they're in bed. He doesn't know how long he has to drill into Tom's head that his scars are nothing to be ashamed of. Any time he could complement Tom's scars, he would.
Lately, Tom has been a little distance from Jake. He barely talks, only responding in nods or head shakes when he can. If not, his voice would be slightly above a whisper. Tom's been sleeping on the couch most of the time. He doesn't even let Jake touch him anymore. But when they are around each other, Jake kept noticing new scars around his wrist area. Any time he would notice one, the following question he would ask was:
"Hey, was the scar always there?"
As said before, Tom would only respond with a nod of his head.

•The shower turned off, but Tom was too deep in thought to realize. It wasn't until he heard Jake called out his name when he was walking the room. Tom had finally snapped out of his world. His adrenaline filled mind told him to hide the blade. He did, but not in a good hiding spot. The blade was flung off the bed, into the floor.
'Shit!'
Jake entered the room and automatically looked at Tom. He instantly could tell something was wrong. Tom's eyes were red, his cheeks looked wet, and he was covering his arms with a shirt.
"Tom, you alright?"
Tom nodded, giving him a tired smile.
"You know, you haven't been talking to me like you used to." Jake said as he walked him. His foot had landed on something cold and hard. He quickly moved his foot away from the object to see what it was.
A blade with splotches of blood.
Heat and nervousness striked through Tom's body. He was about to break down any second. Jake looked at Tom, then back at the blade and back at Tom. His eyes were glazed. A watery sheet layered over his eyes. "Tom.." Jake picked up the blade and sat it on the dresser. He sat down next to the bigger man.
"Have you been -"
Tom broke down in tears. It was like a dam filling up with too much water. It had finally broken. In this case, Tom was that dam. Jake placed his hand on Tom's back, making a circle motion. "It's alright, Tom. I'm not mad or disappointed."
He looked down, noticing the dry blood streaks on his arms. "I be back." Jake got up and when get a towel. As Jake left the room, he made sure to take the blade. After getting rid of the blade, he got the towel, poured a bit of water on it, got some bandages, and then made his way back to the room. Jake sat next to him. "Can I see you arms please." Tom didn't budge.
"Tom, please, I'm not gonna judge you." Jake looked up at him. Tom slowly revealed his arms to Jake. There were fresh cuts and old ones. Jake found himself staring at them for a while. That was until he snapped out of it and began gently wiping the dried blood off.
Once done, he got the bandages. One by one, he covered each fresh cut. Afterward, Jake went throw away the bandage paper and threw the towel in the washer.
Tom stared at the floor. Not exactly looking at the tiles. His gaze was deeper than that. Tears plopped on the floor.
Jake entered the room once again. He sat next to Tom, then laid his head on the raven haired man's shoulder. As doing so, Jake softly patted his back. "You know I still love you right." There was no response after that, only a light sniffle.
"I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry about."
