By a narrow chance, Wyatt slipped beneath the inspectors' view and darted over and out the gargoyle's body and heard a complaint behind them, "Yuck, the damn rats are already at the corpses" In which they turned around and shot an ego shattering resulted glare. However with luck of timing, a flare of light from above caught Wyatt's attention, their eyes widening when they recognised the two figures. A sense of urgency came over Wyatt and they leapt forwards, their entire form extending and erupting into fur as they took on the look of the stray cat. They chased through the streets, muzzle tilted up to keep track of Chris's movements in the sky. The stitches along their spine pulled tight against each silent stride, not painful but certainly uncomfortable.
At one point, Wyatt had lost them. They slowed to a stop, flanks heaving from the rush of effort.
They shook their body starting with head down to tail, a hind leg kicking out in attempt to relieve the tension pulled by the stitching."Stupid." Wyatt whispered to themselves before returning their surroundings, darting their head round to try and capture any sounds until the voice of the fiery bull roared out from a few buildings down. Wyatt let out a slow exhale to steady their fast paced heart and set off into a trot, head lowered.
Wyatt peeked around a corner to see the cloud of dust. They withdrew back incase it was specifically for the sake of causing disorientation, but it didn't take long enough to clear- and there he was!
"Jaz!" Wyatt whispered loud enough to be audible. They took a step forward, but then quickly shed back again to look both ways before crossing the pathway and into better view.
"You can't stay here!"Z:
In a way that induced a sense of de ja vu, Jaz was alerted by the sudden whisper that called to him and he immediately turned to face it after experiencing another startle of his life.
"Wait- I won't cause you any troubles I promise, someone will probably come get me here and I won't tell them anything about you," Jaz begged meekly. He had been so relieved to get back on track after that awful detour so fatigue had since taken over and he truly had no energy left to properly argue.

"What?" Wyatt flicked their head, completely forgetting for a moment about how adamant they were in keeping their criminalistic identity on the down low.
"Oh- yes okay- wait- no listen!" They had to shake their head again as priorities scattered uncontrollably throughout their train of thought. With every sound that rang out on the street, Wyatt tensed, ready to leap away. They had no idea when or how long it would take for people to arrive at this address."This isn't about me, Im here to warn you. You can't stay here, if someone's coming to get you, tell them to meet you elsewhere."
They allowed a moment to scan the roads before continuing, a crack in their voice as the sentence dragged with regret,
"I went back to the house I sent you too. I hear that they're hunting you down as if you really were a part of my team."Dread settled into their stomach as they glanced around once again. They turned and crossed the road again, back in the direction of where they came from, ready to leave the entire conversation there and separate themselves from the consequences of the failed mission.
They turned their head over their shoulder. Paused. Crossed over the road once more to say one more thing."I can give you a choice. I will make sure you go to whatever place of your choosing and ensure you're not being followed for the night and then we split from there. Or you come with me and leave the city tonight. If the City Watch will treat you like you were one of us, then I will too."

Upon hearing the latest development in their misadventures, Jaz's heart sank. Although he still wanted so badly to reunite with his loved ones and get back to the comfort of his apartment he was realizing it would only put them in danger if someone was after him, which was his main concern. He had always had a rocky relationship with his will to live but to drag others into his own messes was something he could never bring himself to do.
