"Roar!" Tee peered intently through the dense wire barrier, which was so thick that it seemed impenetrable to the powerful lions on the other side. The colossal lion, the king of the pack, appeared to lock eyes with the boy, yet remained motionless on his majestic throne, a massive rock. Meanwhile, the cubs frolicked and played in the foreground, oblivious to the captivating scene unfolding before them.
They joyfully strolled through the zoo with him and Can, making sure to address all of Tee's inquiries. Now, they were happily observing the animals that his son and possibly Can had been eager to see from the start. Tin remained uncertain about Can's past, but he was aware that it involved violence and his parents, as it frequently came up in their conversations about the charity. However, Can had yet to disclose the complete story to Tin. In this particular moment, as Can gazed at the lions, his expression was captivating. His face displayed a mesmerizing enchantment, with his mouth slightly open and a radiant glow emanating from his face as he pressed it against the wire.
The younger man marveled in a hushed tone, "They're larger than I expected." as a lioness strolled by the window, her lengthy tail swishing back and forth. Tee vigorously nodded in approval, fully concurring with his mentor figure.
"They're huge! So massive with those big paws!" Tee exclaimed, bouncing up and down while gesturing excitedly, "Aren't they amazing!"
Tin nodded in approval as he glanced at the information plaque displayed on the enclosure. Can had been going through them for all the compounds, but at that moment, his attention was fixed on the lions in front of him. Tin took the initiative and read aloud, "Let's find out what it says about Lions, shall we?"
"I already know about lions! They live in prides!" Tee exclaimed excitedly, his enthusiasm reaching a fever pitch. Tin chuckled as he began reading the first fact listed.
"Lions usually live in groups of 10 or 15 animals called prides..."
"See! I told you so!"
Tin inquired, "Yes, you did...So, what's the maximum distance a roar can travel?" Tee furrowed his brows, his expression turning into a pout as he shrugged and glanced at Can with hopeful eyes. Can responded with a smile, shaking his head, while Tin blushed at the sight. His heart raced, as he couldn't help but think that this adorable guy had feelings for him and no one else. Clearing his throat, Tin confidently stated, "According to this, an adult male's roar can be heard up to a staggering 8km away."
"Is that far, daddy?"
"It's pretty far." With a gentle smile, Tin scooped up the boy and cradled him against his chest, urging him to keep going. He tilted his head, showing his encouragement. However, before fully immersing himself in the moment, Tin swiftly retrieved his phone from his pocket and captured a snapshot of the heartwarming scene.
It wasn't the first time he had been captivated by Can's interactions with Tee, but it was the first time he could preserve the memory without it feeling intrusive. As Can's cheeks blushed a few shades pink, the moment became even more precious to Tin. Without wasting a second, he set the picture as his background and screen saver, cherishing the image. Then, he resumed sharing fascinating lion facts with the pair.
Tin captured a photo of Can and Tee, and Can couldn't help but smile shyly. He felt a sense of happiness and satisfaction knowing that Tin wanted to capture this moment, even though it was only their first official date. Can had always kept a picture of the lawyer as his computer's screen saver, but he had never dared to set one on his phone. However, now he desired it more than ever before.
"Hey Tee, go to your daddy," Can said, passing the boy to Tin. He positioned themselves in front of the lion enclosure, ensuring that the largest lion was also in the frame. "Let's make some growly faces!"
