Glimpse of Rage

You woke up laying across the sofa. As you wiped drool off your chin you looked around for Mystras. It seemed that he had already left. Getting up, you went to get you something to eat. However, upon entering the store room you realized that you didn't have any food. After all, you had gotten rid of whatever you had so it wouldn't sit and rot in your house when you went on that journey. Not really in the mood to go and buy some more you laid back down on the sofa. After staring at the ceiling for a few minutes you stood up and decided you had nothing better to do than go shopping.

You walked outside as you were also discouraged upon realizing that you were broke. All the money you had, had been stolen when your ship was raided by pirates. You ran back inside just to check and see if you had left any at your house before leaving, but you were unable to find anything. In your excitement for adventure you hadn't been thinking about anything like that.

Walking outside once again, you thought worriedly about what you were going to do. It wasn't easy for a woman to make a living without a husband. You had worked in the performing industry before, but when you left you never expected to return to it, so you kind of left a bad reputation behind. You knew there was no way for you to get by in the colosseum since you weren't strong... at all, so fighting giant monsters was out of the question. Maybe you could get a job as a maid or as a last resort turn to Prostit- Woah woah, you stopped yourself from getting carried away, it wasn't a big deal, just one missed breakfast and even if you did live on the streets the government made sure everyone was fed. Besides, didn't you have Mystras if you got really des- you interrupted your thoughts again. You didn't want to trouble him with your problems. Maybe you would if it actually got down to prostitution, but you doubted you would let that happen. Then it came to you, why don't you just work for the Sindria Trading Company. You did know the owner of it, Sinbad, and of course you were dating the ambassador from Sasan Kingdom so how could you not find work there? Actually, why didn't you think of that before, you had even let your mind wander into the dark thoughts of prostitution, gosh!

With everything seeming to work itself out, you turned into an ally in order to take a shortcut. It only took you a few steps into the ally before you knew someone was behind you. Turning around you were facing some shady guy with a knife. He began threatening you for money which you didn't have. You tried to tell him you didn't have anything. However, the man was too nervous to pay any attention to anything you said. He ended up giving you a shallow stab to the side before, in shock at what he had done, he ran off to who knows where.

With your hand on your side you tried to crawl to the street where someone might help you. However, before you could make it you fell over onto the floor. Using the little strength you had, you leaned yourself up against the wall. You tried to keep the blood from spilling out of you, but your efforts were in vain.

As your hope dwindled, a light reflected off of something and into your eye. Glancing to the side and into the street, you saw the light reflecting off of your literal knight in shining armor, Mystras. Calling out his name as loud as you could sent his head turning to you. Your vision was blurry as you felt his arm behind your back holding you up. Worry tinted his voice as he quickly asked you what had happened. Not even waiting for a response, he picked you up in his strong arms.

Everything that happened after that was foggy in your memory. It wasn't until a while later everything seemed to begin to clear up. You saw a man, presumably a doctor, walking out of the room you were in. Glancing around you noticed yourself bandaged and laying in your bed. As you looked over at Mystras, who was right at your side, you saw his face mixed with emotions of relief to know you would be fine, and worry over everything that had happened, along with a look to reassure you that he was there for you. However, one thing in his eyes which you caught a glimpse of seemed to be a flash of rage, like he wanted to kill someone, but it was quickly hidden away by his other, loving, emotions.
