JIMIN

The bustling restaurant hums with lively chatter as we continue to enjoy their lunch. Laughter intertwines with the clinking of utensils, creating a warm ambience around our table. Despite the shadows of my recent concerns lingering, their presence offers a temporary refuge.

The aroma of freshly cooked food wafts through the air, and I can't help but appreciate the simple joy of being surrounded by familiar faces. The gentle banter and genuine smiles ease the weight on my shoulders, at least for the time being.

"...And that's when I told him, 'If you don't like my cooking, then you're cooking dinner tonight!'" Namjoon hyung chuckles, recounting a humorous anecdote from their married life.

"That's because you're a terrible cook, dear husband." Seokjin hyung argues back in his sarcastic tone only to get us to burst into laughter.

"Don't worry, Namjoon hyung. I'm on your side," I chime in while nodding as a playful smile dances on my lips. "I'm not a cook either."

"I heard from Jungkook that he handles the cooking in the house. So, as a good husband, I am, I just wanted to—"

"You almost burn the house, you silly!" Seokjin hyung cuts Namjoon hyung's words immediately in his naggy tone.

"Hyung, for real?" I exclaim in surprise but I can see from the corner of my eyes that Jungkook is trying his best to not laugh.

"...yeah." Namjoon looks down in shame.

"Oh..." I fall into silence, not sure how to respond to that. "Stop it, Love," I mutter under my breath, nudging Jungkook who is still laughing in silence.

"No worries, Jimin-ah. You can laugh too," Namjoon hyung grins. "It's my daily routine to stress Jin out with my clumsy behaviour." He adds, making Seokjin hyung playfully roll his eyes back.

"He's just not built to be a cook so I give up." Seokjin hyung shakes his head.

"Ayy, hyung. You should give Namjoon hyung a chance to learn it tho. Practice makes perfect, you know?"

"Chances you say? Even when he almost burn the house and get both of us killed?" Seokjin hyung gives me the are-you-serious look.

"It's really that bad?" Not gonna lie, I'm quite concerned at this point.

"You guys tell me then," Seokjin hyung's tone gives off the giving up vibe. "Usually, when people cook, it's the food that will end up burnt, isn't it? But this guy right here, burned the pan instead of the food. The meat was still raw and bloodied but the pan was burnt and almost caught fire already. Does that make sense to you?"

"Yeah, I did that." Namjoon hyung grins awkwardly while we are speechless.

"...How?" I breathe out, completely flabbergasted.

"I don't know too." Namjoon hyung casually shrugs.

"That was why, for everyone's safety, the cooking is all on me. That was what we agreed upon." Seokjin hyung concludes and Namjoon hyung nods in agreement. "With that being said, that's how marriage life is. Everything needs to be done for the sake of both parties. Toleration and understanding, are very important. Communication is the key, yes. But don't forget, the real key is comprehension. It doesn't matter how much we communicate if we don't comprehend each other's side of the story and understand them. So, the key to successful communication is comprehension."

The sudden shift of Seokjin hyung's words makes us fall into silence yet again. However, for me, I can read between the lines of his advice. I know that he's hinting at me to let Jungkook know about the shadow too.
