𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐔𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐄𝐒 and monotonous, grey clouds filled the air. Thunder roared and lightning brightened the sky just for a second. Suddenly, rain started pouring. It splashed on the ground and pieced into massive puddles on the ground.

A group of teens dashed out of the scene as flashing red and blue lights appear into their vision. They pushed and shoved each other until they reach a decent hideout. Sirens blared. They knew they were wanted. But that wasn't their concern. Their concern was the massive creature they couldn't make out. It looked like a blob as couples huddled together to "protect" one another. Others pulled their weapons out and prepared for a massive battle.

Something must've hit one of the female demigods when she realized it wasn't just a monster. It was a monster being controlled by someone.

"Guys, we have to figure out who this person is!" The girl shouted, biting the inside of her cheek. The 9 were prepared for battle, which may have decided if they would save a young girl or if they would be forgotten. The police swarmed out of their cars but quickly evacuated back inside due to something that terrified them. Could they see through the powerful mist?

"You're going to die one way or another, and I'm going to make sure it stays that way," the monster growled. Except it sounded familiar.

The last day of camp for non year rounders was a blur for Aureliano Wren. All of her friends were going to leave due to the end of the summer semester. She stepped out of the Dionysius cabin and looked around. She saw Chiron talking to a brunette girl, the same girl that went on a quest with Percy Jackson and Grover Underwood to return the lightning bolt. Aureliano never wanted to admit it, but it was true. She was jealous of the brunette girl. She wanted to go on a quest, but not everyone gets what they want, right?

Meanwhile, Gavin Holland sat in the Apollo cabin with Will Solace. Horrible news had reached the son of Helios, who was shoved into the Apollo cabin. Anyway, Gavin's mom was in the hospital due to thyroid cancer, who would be put on treatment soon. Gavin didn't want to worry, but he couldn't help it. What if his mom never made it out alive? What would he do? Although he loved camp and his friends, he loved his mother more.

Lavender Snyder fiddled with friendship bracelets as she waited for her best friends. She wanted to meet with her three main friends : Isabella Dunne, Lyla Reid, and Izala Stumper. Isabella was going back home for the rest of the year (weirdly like a heap of the Aphrodite kids Lavender's age.) They we're extremely close, and when Isabella left each year, they felt like a piece of them was gone. But what can they do? They are only preteens, right?
