"A new day, a new beginning I guess."

Xander walked outside, the crisp air blowing past his hair.

Cinder was already outside cooking meat, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, veins in running up his arms.

"Woah! Good morning Cinds!" Xander smiled waving to him while he ran up to him.

Cinder hummed "Good morning to you as well." He turned to Xander a bit of coal dust in his nose.

Xander giggled quietly, turning around to attempt to hide it.

Cinder only rose an eyebrow as he stared Xander down. "And what might be so funny, young man?"

Xander was looking down, still trying to muffle his giggles. He looked up, his eyes barely containing amusement in his eyes.

"I-It's just-" he splutters "-you have a little something on your nose." He points to Cinder's nose.

Cinder rolled his eyes as he used his arm to wipe it off, effectively adding more coal to his nose.

Xander couldn't take it anymore and bursted laughing, eyes crinkling as the sides.

Cinder joined as he took the sight in, wiping the dust with his other arm. He slowly crept to Xander tackling him from behind and smearing coal on his nose as well.

"No!" He begged, hands flailing around, trying to move Cinder's dirty hands away.

Cinder relented, getting off of him, not without smearing a bit on his chin though.

Xander layed down on the grass, breathing heavily.

"You're mean cin." Xander pouted as he looked up at Cinder.

Cinder just chuckled as he replied "As one remembers, you were the one that started it, is it not?"

Xander just turned his head, looking away from Cinder. "Hmph"

"Alright now. We should eat before the meat burns." Cinder said, walking back to the fire.

At this, Xander stood up immeadiately. To be fair he was already hungry, but got distracted by the dirt on Cinder's nose.

He skipped to Cinder's side, keeping his pace to the elder.

"What type of meat is this?" Xander asked, eyeing the meat sliced, cooking on a slab of rock.

"Boar" Cinder answered, sitting down on a log, taking some meat in a plate.

"Here. Now eat." Cinder passed him the plate. The food looked so delicious Xander had no problem digging right in. The boar was good, seasoned well and cooked just right too. Maybe Cinder should consider being a chef in his world.

They were in the woods now, there was a campfire of some sort in front of them but it was extinguished.

Cinder approached it, beckoning me closer.

"Our next spell is fire. All you need to do is chant "Aflame" while pointing your wand at the logs, understood?" Cinder explained as he pointed to the logs.

"Mhm!" Xander enthusiasticlly nodded his head, quickly whipping out his wand.

"Go on when you are ready." Cinder stepped away a bit, but still examining Xander.

Xander readily lifted his wand, taking a stance as he commanded, "Aflame!" He flicked his wand, pointing it at the logs as Cinder instructed.

A small flicker was seen, although gone in a second.

"It worked! It worked!" Xander cheered, looking to Cinder for approval.

"Quite, although you'll have to practice more to get better." Cinder replied.

"Okay!" Xander turned back to the spell, while Cinder still watched him.

Many fire spells were directed at the log for days, but when it got too big, it was quickly extinguished by his water bubble. When he got the perfect size of the fire one night, Xander finally turned to Cinder smiling.

"I did it! Is it good now?" Xander tilted his head, a small smile on his face.

"Cute" Cinder chuckled.

Xander proudly puffed his chest.
"Of course! It's me! No one else can be cuter!"

Cinder nodded, turning away to look at the fire. "Good job. You did well." He praised.

Xander wore a small grin now.
"Yay! What's next?"

Cinder just shook his head chuckling.

This boy is a lot, but it'll be fun.

Many weeks and months had gone past while Xander and Cinder had learned different types of spells ranging from water, fire, earth, wind, light, and darkness.

Personally, the water, light dark spells were his favorite.

Water and light spells for more his amusement, it just amazed him when water would sprinkle over the sky, light colliding and making a rainbow.
Meanwhile, dark spells were really useful for enemies. Especially when the enemies were a bunch of rowdy mystical creatures.

The dark spell would create a void beneath the enemy with which size he wanted it to be and he could send them anywhere he wanted!

Basically teleportation though

Xander giggled a bit before catching himself. He had grown and wasn't the more childish version of himself a few months ago.

He fixed his shirt and hair before going back to the shack.

"Ah yes! Wonderful you're here. We shall go to the market to buy more food and other essentials we might need." Cinder greeted him, glasses perched on his nose while he looked up from packing a bag.

"Oh okay." Xander jogged to his room, also taking his bag and a bit of money. (It's his allowance from Cinder)

Xander met with Cinder outside.

"Good. Let us depart now."
Cinder walked immeadiately towards the market, leaving Xander to follow behind.

Xander just huffed at this remembering his first memory of this months ago. He ran up to Cinder, matching his pace.

"How am I teach? Am I getting better?" Xander struck up conversation, turning to Cinder.

"Yes, well better than you used to be. Your magical capacity has increased as well." Cinder replied, eyes on the path straight ahead.

He wouldn't say it but he was proud of Xander.

Xander just let a small smile slip through and continued the silence, eventually seeing the market in front of them.

"You can scroll through the stalls while I grab the necessary items. We'll meet back here." Cinder dismissed, walking to another section of the market.

Xander hummed an agreement as he looked to the stalls. A familiar golden haired girl was talking to someone.

He walked to her, tapping on the shoulder. She turned around making the air in Xander's lungs leave.

"P-phschea?!" He gasped out.

"Hi darling" she smirked.
